As Sesshomaru destroyed the last of the retreating vermin, he heard the anguished cry of his ward. Turning his head toward the mountain, Sesshomaru turned into a ball of light and left the battlefield. He landed on the rampart and saw his ward sobbing over a corpse.

"Rin."

Rin looked up and wiped her eyes, "Oh, Lord Sesshomaru, I didn't hear you, My Lord."

"What ails you?"

"Nothing, My Lord."

"Then why do you shed tears over a Dwarf you only met today?"

"I-I don't know, My Lord, I feel a deep sense of loss with his death that I have never felt before."

Sesshomaru raised an elegant eyebrow, "That is because he was your intended mate."

"He was?"

"This Sesshomaru has searched a very long time to find a suitable suitor for you, Rin, but This One has never found one until we came to this world. These Dwarves show great honor, and This One believes that this Dwarf is your intended. This One will not deprive you of your mate. If it is Tenseiga's will, This One will bring him back."

Sesshomaru unsheathed Tenseiga and looked at Fili's body. He could clearly see the emissaries of the underworld hovering around the body, and with one swift motion he cut them down. It took a few second but Fili blinked and took a deep breath.

"What happened," Fili asked.

Rin squealed and threw herself into Fili's arms, "You're alive again!"

"How is that possible I clearly remember Azog plunging his sword into my back and falling."

"You did fall but A-Un caught you and Lord Sesshomaru bought you back to life. with the help of Tenseiga."

Fili's eyes widened, he remembered Kagome telling them stories of Sesshomaru and his sword Tenseiga. He also remembered that Sesshomaru didn't do things out of the goodness of his heart, so that left him to wonder why Sesshomaru would revive him?

"Thank you, My Lord, I am forever in your debt for reviving me. If there is ever anything that House Durin can do for the Lord of the Western Lands he need only to ask.

"How is it that you know of This Sesshomaru, Dwarf?"

"During our journey to the Lonely Mountain, Kagome told us of her adventures in your era with you and Inuyasha."

Sesshomaru raised an eyebrow again, "Did she?"

"Aye, she did."

"Come, Dwarf, we must locate the Miko and the rest of your family. There is much that needs to be discussed."

With those words, a cloud formed at Sesshomaru's feet and he lifted off into the air, Fili watched in awe as he ascended into the sky. A-Un walked up to Fili with Rin already on his back, she reached her hand out for his.

"Come, Fili, we must hurry if we are to keep up with Lord Sesshomaru."

Fili smiles up at Rin and takes her hand, she helps him up onto A-Un and together they follow after Sesshomaru. When they catch up with him, Fili points out where his family had gone to. As they circle Ravenhill, Fili spots the prone body of his brother with the elf maiden slumped over him.

"KILI!" Fili screams," Lady Rin, please take us down, that's my brother down there."

Rin pulls A-Un's reins and the begin to descend they land a short distance away from Kili and Tauriel. Upon hearing the impact of something landing Tauriel instantly turns her bow towards the invaders, she relaxes slightly when she sees that it's Fili, but doesn't lower her weapon.
