“Round three and the Flaming Foxes aren’t looking so good, Chan is out and Ajandi has already been knocked to the third zone. Their only hope now is their strongest player, Adesine!” the crowd cheers at the sound of my name. I sigh, yeah no pressure or anything. A wave of water threatens pushing me back to the second zone; I dodge and thrust a wall of flames blindly at the other team. Their earth bender is pushed back to the second zone with the rest of them so I can finally advance forward.

“Adesine shoves the Wolf Dogs back into zone two and advances forward, she is the only player left on her team, the championship rests on her shoulders now.” The announcer shouts into his microphone. I take a deep breath, dodging an earth disc and thrusting a fire ball at the opposing team’s water bender. He whips violently off the back leaving only two opponents left. I yelp as an earth disc hits me straight in the sternum, but mostly I am mad that it shoved me all the way back to zone two. I curse under my breath and evade an angry wall of fire, the opposing team advances towards me. I hurtle fire at the earth bender, he is pushed back a zone. A second flame whips him off the back of the playing field.

The crowd screams my name, chanting it over and over until I am about to be crushed by the pressure I am under. The large man smirks at me, he is a fire bender and he has been one for a lot longer than I have. I gulp and throw a front kick, flames shoot from my heal and into his gut. They only faze him for a second before he thrusts a palm at me, shooting me back into zone three in a ball of fire. I land hard on my back and jump back up onto my feet.

“Pro-Bending isn’t for little girls!” The fire bender taunts as he thrusts another palm at me, I duck and slide my foot across the ground, flames knock his feet out from under him.

“Only fifteen seconds left on the clock!” The announcer panics “Will Adesine manage to push Carlo over the edge in the time?”

I throw a front kick followed by a spinning back thrust; flames shove my opponent to the second zone as I advance. Then the third zone, I push him harder, but he pushes back. I dodge and evade his flames, only four seconds left. In a surge of adrenaline I front flip over his attack and shove his old butt over the edge.

The crowd screams so loudly I can barely hear the announcer proclaiming my victory. I wave at the audience, the rest of my team climbs back up onto the playing field and smiles like they were there the whole time.

“The Flaming Foxes will advance to the championship!” the announcer excitedly reports. I sink to my knees, out of breath and completely exhausted.

“Adesine!” My teammate Ajandi calls after me, I turn to face him. His bright blonde hair hangs in his green eyes, he smiles at me with a crooked grin. “That was pretty amazing.” I nod “I just really wanted to get all of us to the championship.”

I have only known Ajandi for a month or so, our old water bender quit on us last season because, well, our team kind of really sucked.

“You know, Adesine, I have been thinking, maybe you and me should go out sometime?”

Is he asking me out? Like on a date? Why would he want to go out with me? How do I say no to this?
