The Beginning...

*Reader POV

March 27th 1998 was a very special day for the Laris family, the day their daughter, Scarlett, or as her friends called her, Scar, was born. As Scarlett grew up she was like any other normal kid.. Well mostly. The one thing different about her was that as she grew up two of her teeth grew in a strange way unlike any other kid. They grew looking like fangs. On the first day of school for Scarlett everyone called her names like Toothy or Vampire. After that the young girl tried to hide them by wearing a bandana around her mouth or pulling the neck of her shirt over them. While growing up she had very few friends who didn't stay with her for long usually not even for a few months so most if the time she was alone, well, along with her parents who had, sadly, been killed in a robbery that had turned into a murder scene like one from a movie when Scarlett was only 9.

*flashback*

*Scarlett POV

You had only been asleep for an hour or so when you heard a crash from downstairs followed by an ear-splitting scream. Your eyes jolted open and you rushed out of bed, opened the door of your room, and sprinted downstairs. There you saw your parents tied up to a chair with their mouths being duct taped shut by two men at about the ages of 30 and 35 one was tall and skinny and the other was shorter but well built. As your eyes darted around the room like a hawk watching for its prey you noticed that one of the men had knocked over one of your moms glass plates which had been the crash you had heard. You didn't know what to do except call the police. You looked at the closest phone which was across the room but if you ran over to it they might see you. As one of the men looked your way you quickly hid behind a wall and held your breath until you got dizzy. You were so scared to look back because you had heard a few gun shots. As you peeked back tears started streaming down your cheeks like fast-flowing rivers.
