rainy day

sorry i haven't updated in a while! i needed to write something and i think rn is the perfect time as i'm stressed and it helps me calm down :)

btw this one will be adorableeee

the last school bell rang and it was pouring out.

how the hell am i supposed to get home. will thought as he looked outside to the pouring rain.

"hey will! you need a ride?" mike called out to will.

"what you have a umbrella?" will chuckled.

"yea. i will walk you home. it's just easier to walk today." mike smiled.

"what about our bikes?" will asked.

"we will walk tomorrow and then just ride home after school." mike nodded.

"okay, that would be great mike." will laughed, softly.

the taller, freckled boy walked the smaller boy out in the pouring rain, under his umbrella.

will was walking next to the boy, feeling warm and safe inside. these feelings were so different for mike. will knew that he had a crush on mike. he uses this soft tone with him, but doesn't treat him different.

mike walked beside the smaller boy. he enjoyed it. he felt this extreme amount of love for him. he loved it. he just felt like he had someone to love again.

"rain is so peaceful." mike added.

"it is. it's just so calming." will agreed.

"the way it falls. it can fall so lightly, but it can fall so heavy. kind of like love. you can fall so hard for this person, but you can also fall so lightly in love with them." mike related.

"what do you mean, mike?" will asked, furrowing his eyebrows.

"like... like..." mike shuddered from the cold.

mike stopped dead in his tracks and dropped the umbrella. he cupped wills face and looked into his eyes. he gently leaned down and kissed will, softly, on the lips.

mike pulled away and grabbed wills waist. he leaned his nose against wills head and just swayed back and fourth, with will in his arms.

will didn't mind that he was getting soaked. all he cared about was his love for mike.

"you just can fall so madly in love with this person, but try to fall so lightly so you don't get hurt." mike laughed.

"ugh, you mean the world to me, mike wheeler." will giggled.

"well guess what. you mean the universe to me, will byers." mike laughed, laying a gentle kiss on his forehead.

"the rain is falling so hard, just like i am for you, mike." will sighed.

"i love you, will." mike smiled, as he lifted will up into his arms and ran him home, leaving his umbrella on the driveway of the byers household.

guys i'm kinda proud-
