The Girl Who Moves

Chapter 2

I grab my overnight bag and head out the door grabbing my keys so I can take my Impala. Yes, I have an Impala and yes it is a sixty-seven chevy impala. By the times I get to Chole's my parents have called me twice and it is a five-minute drive. I park my car in the driveway and she is standing on the porch. I get out and run up to Chole and hugs her. I start crying which is not normal I never show my feelings. A closed off girl who drives an Impala everyone assumes I am a rich spoiled brat. But it is a lie the only reason I have an Impala is that it was my Grandpa's car and I helped fix it up. On my sixteenth birthday, my Aunt paid for me to go back to fort lewis and get the car.

   Once we get inside Chole says "Hey what's wrong kiddo?" I look at her wiping the tears out of my eyes and say " I.... am.... moving...in two weeks." I saw the smile drop off of Chole's face. The smile is probably because I never share my feelings right off the back. Chole mutters something but I don't hear her so I say "Bubba listen this is not my choice yet. But I have to wait two years until I am eighteen so I can get me and MC." Chole doesn't seem satisfied with what was going on. She looks away and says "This is bull shit!" I couldn't help but smile and say "It is but if I could get me and MC out now I would but I can't." She looks back at me and says "We need to video chat MC!" Oh no, what have I done? Chole doesn't even give me a chance to say no. She takes my phone and calls them. I really need a password on that thing.

When Matt answers the phone and sees it is Chole he yells "Charley get in here!" Charley comes running in to see Chole on the phone and smiles. Chole starts to smile and says "How are you guys?" Matt looks at the ground and Charley looks like she is confused. I roll my eyes and say "Bubba knows guys she is just being nice."  After a few seconds, I say "For once." Chole looks at me and then slaps me. Matt looks up and says "Well I am good except that we have to move. But Adam is starting to flirt back so I think I am going to give him my number!" He sounds so excited okay I am getting him a phone. See my parents give me two or three hundred each month so I pay for the phone bill well mine, Matt and Charley's. After Matt is done talking Charley says "I'm good too just bummed about moving. But I will be fine because Rachel has my number so we can talk allot. How are you Chole?" She smiles and says "Good but kinda upset." Both Matt and Charley got the look of "who are we killing?".  Chole keeps talking "My bestie is leaving with two amazing teens." I look at her and say "Who is this person?" I got slapped again. Matt and Charley are both laughing Chole starts to and I just walk away. 

After a half, an hour MC went to bed. Chole looks at me and says "So Peyton how are you dealing with the moving?" Why the hell would she ask that? "I am mad as hell I am finally happy but now it is all ruined!" I start crying and Chole pulls me in for a hug. We sit there like that for ten minutes before she says "Okay kiddo you are moving in with me." Chole lives on her own basically her mom is never home. Every since her Dad died three months ago her Mom is in and out. She still pays the bills and buys the food and everything but she spends the rest of her time at work. Or were every after work she goes. I laugh and say "I would love to but M and C are not living with those thots." "Well, then they can live here too." I sigh she is trying to make a way for us to stay. "This is why I love you Bubba." She looks at me in shock. We have been best friends for five months and she tells me that she loves me but I have never said it back. A smile takes her face and she says "I love you too kiddo." 

After an hour of getting her to understand that I don't have a choice but to move we watch Yuri on Ice. Chole and I have watched three episodes and I feel something heavy on my shoulder. I look over and see Chole asleep. As I go to pick her up she wakes up a little and says "Peyton where are going?" I look at her say "Nowhere but we are going to watch Yuri on Ice in your room. For two reasons too. For one, you have a bigger television and for two you are falling asleep." We watch a few more episodes before falling asleep. 

The next day I walk out of Chole's house I give her a hug and say "Remeber bubba I love you and you always will be my best friend." She smiles and says "Love ya too Kiddo and same for you." Once I get home my Dad says "Since you took off and school is over we are leaving in two days." Of course, my family does something like this to me. "Okay but Matt and Charley are riding with me." Yeah out of everything I could have said I say that. What can I say I love my sister and brother more than in thing and I will choose their happiness over mine every time.
