Setting: this is set after their first battle with Zarkon, Pidge starts to find new emotions arising causing her to panic, falling for the Cuban boy was the last thing she wanted to happen while stuck in space.

Pidge POV:

I sighed getting out of my newfound bed, presented by the Alteans. It's not really that comfy, I don't think I slept very much, everything's a blur to be honest. I'm sure I spent most of the night trying to get new information on dad and Matt's location.

I rubbed my eyes before stepping out the door, I still can't get used to how you don't need handles here... weird. I continued down the hallway to the, 'kitchen area?' I don't know what it's called but if Hunk spends all his time in there it must be a kitchen. Once I got in I spotted Lance, Hunk and Shiro standing around the counter eating food goo. Upon seeing Lance my heart began to flutter. 'NO stop Katie Holt! You aren't into boys! Or anyone for that matter!' I tried to push these feelings away, Shiro gave me a suspicious glance. "Hey Pidge, how are you?" Shiro asked, smiling while tilting his head to the side. "Fine..." I grumbled, I've been staying up too late, it's starting to get to me. "You don't sound fine." He laughed slightly at the end. Hunk slid a bowl over to me. "Eat up, your not gonna get big and strong if you don't get your vitamins." I smiled at him, "please~ have you seen these muscles?" I raised my noodle arms. "I mean look at them." Everyone laughed, I pouted. "Well in the end no ones got muscles like shiros." Shiro just gave me a look as if to say, 'stop... just stop' I giggled and began to eat my food. I would glance and Lance from time to time. His skin looks so soft, sometimes his brown hair just slightly curls around his ear. He's so, so, perfect~ 'darn it Pidge!' I cringed, 'stop it right now!' I looked back up to see Lance staring back at me. "You okay pigeon? You look tense." I glared at him, "woah woah calm down. But what's wrong?" I just looked away eating another mouthful.

No ones POV:

Hunk and Shiro shared knowing looks to each other, the youngest paladin did in fact have a crush on the Latino boy.

Shiro got up and patted Pidge on the shoulder before whispering in her ear, "come to my room after breakfast." With that he walked away. Pidge just stared. 'What would he need her for?' She continued to eat, stealing glances and Lance, admiring his perfectly shaped face and his ocean eyes.

~to shiros room~

Pidge POV:

I walked into shiros room, still confused what this was about. "Hey Shiro, what did you need me for?" He gave me a serious look. "Pidge, I've been watching you for awhile, and I've noticed something." I tensed, 'oh great he knows he knows!' "Pidge... I know you have a crush on Lance." My spirit practically left my body in the moment. 'No no no no no' "it's ok, I'm happy, I'm taking care of you since your not with your family so let me put this in perspective. If he hurts you, I will break him. If you don't want him to do something, don't let him, if he does... I will destroy him. Specifically saying, I will watch his every move." He gave me a creepy glare, 'great.' I smiled, "ok, but nothing will probably happen, he's a silly crush and doesn't like me back. And pfft I don't like him that much." I went quiet at the end, Shiro just gave me a look, "understand my warning though." And with that he shooed me out his room, giving me a bone crushing hug before closing the door. I let out a long breath, 'just a stupid crush, just a stupid silly crush.' I repeated in my head constantly.

~nighttime~

Lance POV:

I went to the kitchen to get a glass of water, I woke up in the night and my throat felt dry. After drinking the cup of water I started back down the halls to my room until I heard a noise. Upon closer inspection I found it was coming from Pidge's room. I leant my ear against the door to hear whats happening, I heard light sniffles and mumbling. 'Is she crying?' I pulled the door open slightly to see pidge sitting on her bed hugging her knees to her chest, digging her head into them. I listened closely. "I'm such and idiot, why did I have to fall in love with him. I can't, it won't go away. I don't want to like him, it hurts, why does it hurt? I don't understand, I'm so useless..." my heart broke, she liked someone who clearly doesn't feel the same way. Who could it be? Hunk? No, no, their like siblings. Shiro? Ew no. Keith, maybe, he doesn't really have emotions so it could be him. If it is I'm gonna mess him up, nobody hurts my pigeon. I looked at her to see her shaking lightly and sniffling. I couldn't hold back, I slid the door open and enveloped her in a hug. I felt her tense. "Shhh, it's ok pigeon~" I soothed, she just looked at me with tears eyes. "L-lance?" I smiled slightly. "Yeah it's me. Are you ok? Who hurt you? Was it keith? I bet it's keith." She gave me a weird look. "Keith? Really, Keith?" I just shrugged, "who do you have a crush on?" I smiled sweetly. She just frowned, "no one so drop it." So stubborn. "Hunk?" She glared. "No it's not Hunk." I started to worry. "S-Shiro?" I said nervously, she looked at me. "Ew shiro?! He's like my father! Ewwww!" I just chuckled. "So? Who is it?" She look at me sorrowfully. "Lance..." I nodded, "I have a crush, I-I have a crush. On you." I was dumbfounded, 'me? Me?! Outta all the dudes on this ship. Me?' I shook my head when I realised she started tearing up. "Mi amor, you, your so beautiful, how could you feel love for a perro sucio like me?" I questioned. She stared at me. "Your so sweet and is always there for others, your brave, heroic, handsome. I love you for who you are, every part of you is why I love you." I looked at her shocked. "Mi amor, I love you too, querida please, be mine. Be mine so keith can't have you." She giggled at the last part and nodded. "Yes." With that I leant in, She did as well. Our lips were inches apart until I connected the gap, our lips began to move in sink with each other and I felt her tilt her head to deepen the kiss. I wrapped my arms around her waist until our bodies were close. We broke apart before staring into each others eyes, "I love you~" I cooed. She smiled, "me too." We cuddled closely for the rest of the night.
