Melani drove to the game, smacking her steering wheel to the beat of the song that had been playing on the radio.

I stared out of the window and blew my hair out of my eyes.

I hated going to these social outings. I couldn't pay attention to the game for lack of better understanding, everyone was too loud, and the speakers would always blow, causing a high pitched sound.

Whenever I went to the games, I would either hang out under the bleachers or just wander around.

Because I didn't particularly enjoy the games, I spent the majority of the time under the bleachers.

But, Melani dragged me to the game. And the only reason she wanted to go to the game was because her asshole boyfriend Joseph was on the football team.

Melani pulled into the half full parking lot of the stadium.

I stepped out of the car into the cool autumn air.

Wind blew, and I grasped onto my sweater tightly, trying to stay warm.

"Come on, come on, come on!"

"Okay Melani, let me get out of the car first, jesus."

Melani hopped around like an excited rabbit and grabbed my arm hastily.

She dragged me through the gate and paid for my ticket, then pulling me into the bright arena that is, by definition, the home of 'school spirit'. If barely clothed high-schoolers is your definition of school spirit, then this is your place.

We walked past of the people wearing dark blue and gold, and walked over to the least populated stand, and took a seat.

I looked around the stadium and took note of where not to go. Such as the middle of the stands, the away team side, the south concession stand and of course the bathrooms.

The bright lights and noises of the game disturbed my solitude, but Melani was happy, so that made me happy.

"Isn't this exciting?"

Melani beamed at me as she asked her question, interrupting my train of thought.

I ran a hand through my hair and smiled at her.

"Yea, very."

I sat and looked around at the crowd. The shades of blue and gold contrasting, as if people couldn't decide on what shade to use.

"Hey, I'm gonna go walk around for a bit, go get a pretzel or something."

Melani smiled and dug in her purse for a moment, and pulled out a five dollar bill.

"Get me a pretzel or something."

She handed me the five and I stood up, brushing my legs off, and making my way down the stairs of the bleachers, towards the concession stands.

When I got underneath the bleachers, I stood there for a moment, trying to relax.

I looked around for a moment then dug into my bag, looking for my phone.

Someone bumped into me, making me drop my bag.

"Are you fucking kidding me?"

The cool night air blew around me as I bent down to grab my bag.

I stood up and whoever hit me spoke up.

"Well, isn't it a delight to see you again?"

I swear. What is it with this bandana boy always bumping into me.

"Of course, always a delight bandana boy."

He shook his dirty blonde hair and pursed his lips. He still had his bandana in his hair, thus, he would understand why I call him that.

He held onto a lighter and put a cigarette in between his lips, then the lighter flickered and he puffed smoke out into the air next to him.

I looked at him cautiously.

"C-could I try?"

He smiled, a dimple forming on his cheek.

He took the cigarette out of his mouth and handed it to me.

I smiled and put the cigarette in between my lips and sucked in the nicotine, then blew the smoke out, coughing a bit.

"What's your name?"

He smiled, stepping closer.

"Lake Juniper."

"Last name?"

"Henwai."

"Ah, Lake Juniper Henwai."

"And what's yours?"

"Well, that may come later. I think I'm taking a liking to bandana boy."

He winked and pulls the cigarette from my lips, then takes a long drag.

His black muscle shirt fit him well, I wasn't going to lie.

I smile and start playing with the end of my hair.

"Do you want to go get a pretzel together and then watch the game?"

"Sure, bandana boy."

"Good, Lake Juniper Henwai."

"Just Lake."

"Okay, just Lake."
