Don't Run Away

Chapter 4

After we all ate I dropped everyone off at home and I went back to my house. When I arrived, I was shocked to see that they.. or he... or she actually did burn my house down to the ground. The only thing that survived was that box that Amelia gave me. 

I forgot about this box. She told me to open right after I get out of house arrest. Which I am. I was about to open the box until... I realized. There was a key hole, but no key. I drove to a hotel and woke up to my phone ringing at 7:15. It was Mia. She was getting mad because I was not at the restaurant.  

My mind totally forgot about this. I put on a new set of clothes and ran to my car. When I got there, Mia and I got a coffee and some breakfast. While we were eating, I got a text. It was saying that I can check out this new house today. I asked Mia if she wanted to go and we immediately went. 

it was only a few minutes away and we liked it. Mia mentioned one thing as we were eating. She said that her boyfriend broke up with her and he took almost all of her money. I felt bad so I asked her if she would like to move in with me if I bought this house. She agreed. 

I bought the home and she moved into another room. She could not thank me enough. She told me that she is going to a job interview on Monday morning. Then it hit me. I really need to get a new job. 

Since I had almost no stuff to move in, I went out and bought a ton of new things for all the rooms with Mia. I did not have much money left after everything I have just bought. I only had about ten thousand to live off of. 

Later that night, I also checked for new jobs. I am looking into something along the lines of car dealing. I found a good job not too far from my house. It was being a car dealer and it was good paying. The interview was over the phone tomorrow morning. 

After the interview in the morning I have got the job. I work now from 9 AM to 2 PM. Later that day Mia told me that I got mail. She said it was from Amelia. I open the package and it was that key to the box. 

I go to grab the box and as soon as I open it there was a few things. There was a note, a Tesla Car key, a map, and an iPhone. The note read "Go to the location marked on this map and bring everything. Do not tell me that you have opened it yet or not. Just go to the destination." 

I told Mia that I would be back soon and I did not tell her why. When I arrived, it was under a bridge. Which had a garage door. Next to the garage door was a keypad lock. It was an eight number code. When I flipped up the cover a note fell out of it. It said "Good. You found the garage, go to the Walmart. The one specifically fifty miles away. The one we used to always go to and tell the manager who you are and ask for a blue light. Then, scan the numbers on the code with the light."

It was a long ride. I got the light and scanned the keypad. There was a note, again! It said, "The password is the answer to pi. Go to the bakery right next to my house and yet again say who you are to the manager and have a good pie." 

i got the pie and it was my least favorite pie. Blueberry. I took the whole pie apart and found the code. The code is... 21636811. I drove back to the garage and... come on! the battery is dead on the lock! 

By now, it was already time for bed. I drove home and came back the next morning. The next morning I went back to the garage and tried to unlock it again. Nothing. I went to the store and put new batteries in.
