When Thea returned home after dark, she found her mother in her bedroom sitting on a stool, gazing out the window with her chin in her hands. Her head jerked to Thea's direction.
"You can't leave like that Thea. We didn't know where you were and you stayed out far past sunset. That's not tolerable." She said with her arms crossed. Thea was truly angry at Caliya. She had said herself that she was 13 and yet she was still under strict rules, unlike Stellius.
"I will, however, apologise for my words earlier. Perhaps they were a little harsh. You need to understand though, that you have expectations to live up to. You are the daughter in a respected family. You need to start acting like you are. Actually, tomorrow is the perfect opportunity! We are having a great feast. Milkalis and his parents will be there, and many of our friends, some even from different cities. It's a very special occasion so we must all be on best behaviour, yes?" Caliya said. Thea was just tired now and she wanted to sleep so she agreed just to have some peace. Caliya kissed her forehead and left silently. It was odd for Thea's family to host a gathering unless there was a festival of some sort. But she was exhausted, so instead of wondering and scratching her head, she just lay down and slept.
