Zior, king of God's, father of war and medicine. It was unfair, Zior gave titles to god's before their birth, Tay'la and Ad'ma would never choose their roles in life. It was sad, twin brothers who were separated by the man who should have raised them. Ad'ma, locked in a library for days on end, little to no food or water, forced to learn everything about the world. Tay'la, beaten to near death constantly by his father.

"A god of war must be powerful! You are a disappointment." His father spoke coldly, how Tay'la longed to be appreciated by his father. How he longed for his father to stop this fighting. How he longed for anything to stop his father! He would regret his wish.

Not even thirteen years since the twin's birth when tragedy struck. The god's overlooked Humanity's tiny mutiny. The humans are weak and cannot ever truly stop a god. That's what they thought. They were so so wrong, the mutiny took a name, "Order of the Dark Fire," the name mocked the gift the god's gave to humans. The order challenged Zior, a fight to the death, no problem for a king of God's.

Zior lost. It took a single spell from the human to kill him, a single blast of dark flames struck his heart. Zior, king of God's, most powerful among us, fell to humans. The only thing he left was his children and his pet. His pet's name was, "kai," it was the only thing the man showed respect to. His human body was tiny and weak, his mind was only above average, why did his father choose this human over his children?

None of it mattered to the twin's, they ran once the fighting started. The god's fell, all of them, all that was left was Tay'la, Ad'ma, and the God-Touched, Kai. The twin's ran as far as they could, they split up to avoid being found. They eventually started churches, gaining followers, followers become towns, towns became cities, and cities became kingdoms.

The two kingdoms, Zédel and Lanya, they stood in glory. The Blind Eye Knights in Zédel. The Knowing Hand Mages in Lanya. Zédel's palace hid the god Tay'la, only the most loyal knights were allowed to ever even SEE him. Lanya's palace hid Ad'ma, his mages all saw him at least once, so he could oversee them gouge their eyes out, his mages must be blind so that his blood may run through them. Tay'la however, did not share his power directly. He would hide away from the world to focus only on one thing, which he never shares. He would only leave his room if there was no last option. His black eyes pierced any who look at him, he could see into your very soul if he so wished. Ad'ma's eyes shined with sunlight, if you could even call them eyes. His eye sockets housed two glowing orbs. If a mortal gazed into them they would go mad from the divine knowledge bestowed upon them. This is why Ad'ma wears a blindfold and his mages must blind themselves.

Tay'la's kingdom was dark, but it was not bad. He left the affairs of running it to Kai, who stayed with Tay'la upon his request. Kai was an educated man, he was much older than the two god's, and more powerful as well. He ran the kingdom with ease, which allowed Tay'la to hide away. His hair grew and grew until it was resting upon the floor, spreading across the room like a carpet. Ad'ma visited rarely, only to give ideas for spells to Tay'la. Tay'la had his knights teach black miracles, his own creation. His knights would draw power from Tay'la and cast spells. These spells would range from absorbing the souls of enemies, to restoring friends bodies with his divine power.

Tay'la and Ad'ma had to hide, forever if they must. They could not let the bloodline end yet, humanity still needed them, even if some could not see it.

Eventually they realized that it's called betrayal, not mutiny. Mutiny is expected. Betrayal is sudden, like a spell stolen from the Godly Archive, designed to kill a god, and fired directly at Ad'ma's heart. Barely missing the heart, due to interference from another mage. Ad'ma was betrayed by one of his own mages. It was simple to trick Ad'ma, he was trusting. Too trusting. He didn't expect that a blind mage would want eyes back, and he didn't expect that same mage to steal an innocent citizen's eyes. And he least expected the mage to fire a stream of dark flames at him. He would learn from his mistakes. Perhaps when he awoke.

IF he awoke.
