"So you're Clementine, Clementine Everett?"A woman with near perfect deep skin peaks over the corner of the stark white doorway that led to the supposed interview room. She tucks away the stray curls behind her ear, her red lips pucker in a snappy tone when Clem nods slowly. "Right this way, Mr. Smith is real busy,"
Clem stood from the line of chairs, she seemed to be the last one for the interview process, so far she's made a mistake:
She's underdressed. Wearing a simple button up cream blouse and a gray pencil skirt with matching flats. This woman before her was dressed in black, a tidy black dress that formed around her natural curves.
She leads her down a long hallway, where Clem passes some windows that show the city of New York. It was a sunny day, so she could see the perfect skyline and the just how high up she was.
"Alright, you sit here and he'll be in shortly," the woman who remained nameless states. Clem then looks at her name tag and sees 'Candi'. Well, Candi narrows her brown eyes and forces a smile. "You want any water? Soda?"
"I'm fine." Clem just wanted her to go about her business. And Candi seemed to think the same way...
The glass door opens to a large black desk, long in length and tall. On top of it was an opened laptop and some picture frames.
Before the desk was a cushioned black leather chair, which matched the couches in the outskirts of the rather bland room.
Clem sits down, setting her brown purse in her lap, picking off the dog hair on her skirt. She was nervous, sure, but above all, she was ready to meet this Louis guy, she knew he was a very well known bachelor in these parts of town. Owning one of the most successful businesses, or well, his family business...
She sits up tall in the chair when she hears the door open behind her. A pair of footsteps click against the reflective gray tile.
To her right she sees him, immediately she's struck with the realization as to why so many would woman wanted him in bed.
He was very attractive. From the daring style he wore his dreads in and how it almost clashed with the professional suit he wore, to the immediate wink he gives her as he passes by.
Clem could feel her cheeks bud into a deep blush. She watches him get behind his desk, where he shuffles some papers and moves his laptop, she notices the ring that wrapped around his left thumb. It was a golden boa snake, an interesting choice of jewelry...
"Clementine Everett.." he finally speaks up, his voice was unexpected. He looked so serious, but had a very good humored tone. "Your name is really Clementine, like the oranges?" Louis remarks with a chuckle that blew passed the side of his mouth.
All previous attraction she had to him disappeared. "Yes. Like the fruits."
Louis raises a brow and glances over her paperwork. "I see here you were fired? You used to work at a bar, correct?"
"Yes, that's all true.." Clem felt his eyes on her, it made her heart race...
"Why were you fired?" Louis rests his chin in his palm, elbow on the tabletop. Looking intrigued.
Clem knew she was fired for cussing out a customer. In her defense, they deserved it.
"I have a very strong mouth.." Clem says in a quiet voice, tucking her curls behind her ears.
"Do you?" Louis snickers at this, sitting back in his chair. "That's interesting.." Louis shrugs. "I like strong mouthed individuals."
He reads her papers again, they go through some questions and finally, after a good 30 minutes of practically getting hit on, the interview of sorts, was over.
"It was nice meeting you, Mr. Smith," Clem stands to take his hand as he reaches out for a handshake. He grips her small hand tightly.
"Just call me Louis," he shrugs with a handsome smirk. She had to admit, he did know how to flirt..
"Well, Louis," Clem shakes his hand. "I can't wait to hear back from you."
Louis guides her to the door and opens it for her, at his proximity, she could smell the fine cologne he wore. It was intoxicating...
"You'll definitely be hearing from me sooner than you think." He says. "Have a great day and a safe trip home,"
"You too, thank you again," Clem says with a bright eyed smile. Louis had never seen something so beautiful. He was almost at a loss for words. He watches her leave and apart of him wanted to ask her to stay a little longer, but that'd be unprofessional and probably creepy.
She didn't seem too into him, which is maybe why he's so drawn to her.
