"On nomaku sanmanda basaradan kan!! On nomaku sanmanda basaradan kan!!" A little girl screamed in the middle of her bedroom as she looked around and saw her furniture flying through the air. Something was wrong, horribly wrong. "Daddy!! The magic isn't working!!"

As the little girl screams, her father rushes into the room to see what was wrong. The furniture began to spin even more rapidly around the room as the 8 year old stood on her bed. "On nomaku sanmanda basaradan kan!!"

"Rin, Hyo, Toh, Sha, Kai, Jin, Retsu, Zai, Zen!!" A woman yelled as she ran into the room. The combination of the two spells must have been enough for the spirits terrorizing the small girl to stop.

The young girl ran to her father and hugged him tightly, crying her eyes out. He stroked her long blonde hair and held her close. "it's alright Akiko, daddy's here."

"And aunt Ayako is here too," The woman said with a smile as she looked at the man hugging the young girl.

"To explain a bit, that woman Ayako...well, she's my dad's co-worker. My dad? Oh I'll tell that soon enough. The little girl's my best friend Akiko! That man standing there I don't know his real name, but my dad and everyone else calls him Monk. My name's Fujiomi, but most people who know me call me Omi!" I smiled and waved my hand. "My father's name is Kazuya Shibuya and my mother, I'm not too sure. All I know is I have an uncle Lin and someone who just started working for my dad's company named Rin... He seems like a sweetheart, so he fits in well with Dad and the others. Anyways, here's our story!"

I was sitting in my dad's office. My aunt Mai was sitting in a chair and I was sitting in her lap as she braided my hair. I'm fifteen at the time, and even though Akiko is eight she's still my best friend. We were almost as close as sisters. Anyway, as Aunt Mai was braiding my hair I could hear Uncle Lin typing away on that computer of his as always dad was writing in that little black book.

It'd been several days since Dad had left me with a babysitter, so that meant it'd been a while since Shibuya Psychic Research had a case. He never lets me go with him no matter what, and says he isnt even sure if I can come when I'm grown. "I'd like to see him stop me then!" I thought, then Dad's office phone rang.

"Hello?" He asked, and then his face turned from expressionless, blank canvass, into the face of someone who had just seem a horrific incident before their eyes. "Monk, calm down."

Aunt Mai shot up from her seat and almost knocked me in the floor. After apologizing she tore the phone from dad's hands and started talking. "Monk is everything ok? What's going on?"

The room fell silent, and then aunt Mai handed the phone back to dad. She grabbed her keys and ran out of the office and straight to her car. I was starting to get worried that something was wrong with Akiko. I'd never seen aunt Mai move so fast other than when Akiko was sick or something. Akiko is Mai's daughter after all.

"Dad, is it Akiko? What's going on?" I asked as I looked him dead in the eyes. He didn't respond to me. I knew it was bad when he did that. "Dad!?"

"You need to stay here for now. I'm calling Masuko to come watch you while I go see to Monk's home." He stood and grabbed his coat. Soon uncle Lin followed.

They walked out the door of the office once dad called Masuko and then I was alone. I hated this! I hated it when Dad would leave me alone in this creepy office with all of his equipment that was always making those weird noises and blinking. I didn't wanna be alone!!

As Kazuya's van approached Monk's home he noticed Mai's car already in the driveway. He got out and soon Lin did too, slamming the doors behind them. They walked up to the house and through the opened door and straight to Akiko's room. Clearly they had been here several times before.

When they came into the room they found the young girl utterly terrified and clinging to her father with tears in her eyes. Kazuya walked to her and gently touched her head. The young girl looked up at him and wiped the tears away.

"U-Uncle Naru, are you here to get rid of Namazaki?" Akiko asked, and Naru looked shocked. Monk and Mai looked just as shocked as he did.

"Who's Namazaki honey?" Mai asked as she knelt before her daughter.

"My friend...but today she got mean for some reason, and she got even madder at me when I tried using Daddy's magic on her," when she said that, Naru looked at her and then looked at Monk, Mai and Ayako. "I think you know what I need to do. First a few questions and then the red light test."

"Red light test?" Akiko asked. "What's that?"

"It's fine honey, nothing to worry about," Naru said as he sat down on the edge of Akiko's ruffled up bed. "Alright, how long ago did you and Namazaki become friends?"

"Uhm... she came to my room one night about a week ago. She would make my dollies move and talk to me, it was super fun! She told me not to tell Mommy and Daddy though or we couldn't play anymore..." She looked down and brought her knees to her chest.

"It's alright sweetie," Mai said as she hugged her and held her close.

"Alright...do you know why she got so mad at you just now?"

"Well...she started bringing other people into my room. They were hurting my toys...a stuffed dog Daddy got me has some insides missing because of one of them," the girl said as she pointed to a stuffed animal in the corner that obviously had it's fluff pulled out.

"Are you sure you didn't do that yourself?" Monk asked, and then Akiko got mad.

"I take good care of my toys! I don't hurt them, they're my friends! When one of Namazaki's friends hurt my toys I told her it was time for them to leave! If they didn't leave I wasn't gonna play with her anymore! And that's when she got so mad at me..." Akiko ran to the corner of the room and brought out a stuffed doll and handed it to Naru. She sighed a bit when she handed it to him. "That's Namazaki's doll. She's not in there right now cause you're here...But when we talk she likes to use this doll best."

"Thank you Akiko, truly. Don't you worry we'll have Namazaki gone so she can't bother you anymore soon. But in the meantime we do need you to do the red light test we talked about earlier. It'll help us get rid of Namazaki, alright?" Naru said, not exactly smiling, but there was a certain aspect of his expression that looked a little less blank.

Akiko smiled and nodded yes.

"Alright everyone but Akiko and I leave the room," Naru said and everyone obeyed. Everyone else had been through it one time or another, so they knew what was coming.

Naru sat up a red light that was flashing slowly on a table in front of where Akiko was sitting. "Watch the light, try to match you're breathing with it. In when it's red and out when it fades can you do that?" She nodded. "Good. Just slowly relax..." After waiting a few minutes, he began the test. "Tonight at exactly 12:01AM, the book that will be placed on your dresser will move. It will land in the floor."

The words 'Book' and 'Floor swirled through the little girl's mind until Naru turned the light back on. "That's it, we're done."

"Alright uncle Naru what's next?" Akiko said with a smile, eager to help all she could.

"Next is a good night's sleep," He said as he placed Akiko's favorite book, Cinderella, high on the top of her dresser and drew a circle around it in chalk.

"What's that for?" She asked.

"It's nothing, just something I need to do. Mai, will you put Akiko to bed now?"

Mai nodded and came in, tucking her daughter into bed.

Naru walked back to the guest room where Lin had set up headquarters upon arrival and slipped into bed. He was tired, unusually tired. Lin hardly ever slept, and stayed at his computer typing and watching the different cameras and mics he had finished setting up. He kept the closest eye on the one he set up in little Akiko's room. It was focused in on the book. If that book moved during the night, then they would know what they were dealing with and would know where to go from here. If not, they weren't too sure.
