I ran as fast as I could through the hallways. An alarm went off but I didn't give a shit. I just kept running. My heart was pounding in my chest as I tried desperately to escape, to leave this place.
I tripped.
I looked down at what had made me trip and there was a hand, holding onto my ankle. I looked up and saw a girl who had dirty brown hair and wounds all over her body, she was chained to a strange machine, and her face had streaks from tears, at first I thought her skin color was dark but when I saw the marks where water had streamed out of her eyes I knew she was extremely dirty.
"H- help" she said through cracked lips, her voice weak.
"Please, I'll help you in an- any way I- I can! Just please help"
I didn't care about her. Not one bit, she was just a random girl who was locked in some sort of cell in some sort of research facility. I was going to leave her there.
"Let go" I said, she still held my foot and I needed to run.
"I'll help you get out of here if you help me"
I tried to shake her off me so I could leave but she held my ankle with all her might. She held it like it was the only thing keeping her afloat on a sea, maybe there were monsters under the surface, she didn't know what'd happen if she let go but she was afraid of it.
" We can get o-out of here together, I've b-been here for so long, I know the place. They told me I'm insane they s-said they'd fix me. I don't want t-to be fixed."
That was the thing that convinced me, she wasn't normal either, perhaps she knew something about me and she knew the building. Taking her with me would profit me. She really could help.
"How do I get you out of there?"
"Y-you'll help?"
"How to I get you out of there?"
"The bars on the door, they're weak I broke them before but then they chained me to this thing," she nodded towards the machine she was chained to around the waist.
"I can't break out anymore, I'm too weak y-you need to free me, and t-then I'll help you."
I stormed towards the door and kicked it open, denting the metal surface. Then I went into the room and ripped the chain off the machine.
Immediately the girl stood up looking a lot more energetic.
"Let's go" she said. I nodded and we didn't speak another word until we were out of there.
We saw a town in the distance and ran to it.
