Chapter 1 - Secrets

My school isn't the best school you can find, but it isn't the worst either. Some things make it look like it's better than it really is, but others push it totally off the charts. There are 5 different units of classes. Each unit includes 2 classes. I was in T2, while my friends were in T5. We were all separated last summer, when the school break was over and we all graduated from the year before. This is the time when all the excitement happens. All students are cheering loudly or screaming at their doom. Your results and overall how well you do in school depends mostly on the teachers anyway. I was unlucky enough to have the worst teacher in history, Mr. Jack. Your whole life can blow past you when you hear the sound of this teacher. The horrific, wrinkled, red face of his still haunts people till this day. Spend one year in his class, and you'll become a total nerd, there's no way around it. I was totally frightened to hear this news, or so I thought.

A few moments later, the vice principal stood onto the stage for an announcement. There was a moment of silence in the auditorium while the helpers were getting the microphone ready. I was just calming myself down not to get annoyed at the fact that my whole year would be ruined just for one incident, I couldn't believe it. The announcement was about mistakes that were in the class plans, some people were going to be moved to different classes. Even though I heard this, I still had no hope in me. I was too disappointed to care. I was just sitting on one of the students chairs, the blue ones, and minding my own business. As already you know, I wasn't very interested to listen to a boring lecture. But what caught my attention was when the principal announced that 2 students from class T2 was going to be changed to T1 and T5. I was exited for a moment only to be brought back down to reality but the thought that it could be anyone of the 48 students. I heard a name that I never heard before, but apparently it was one of the students of class T2.

The principal was having trouble with the second one. He took off his glasses and put it back on, and then repeated that like 3 times, totally unnecessary. But then he announced, "This student has achieved what others haven't achieved. He has shown us that he is worthy of getting into science. This wonderful student of our will be transferred to T1, and his name is..." The crowd dropped to total silence, I think I could even hear the crickets outside, chirping. My head kept on thinking "It isn't me, it isn't me, it isn't me." but I could not believe what I heard. "This student of ours is _____ _____" I was totally amazed. My brain kept thinking "could this really be me? Am I really hearing correctly?" But whenever my brain thought, I was correct. I was changed from an awful class to something better than I'd ever be in. My serial number had been changed too. Like most people who come new to the school or get transferred, they become the last in the class, not educationally but serially. But for me, it was different. I was given 3rd in the class. I could hear the disappoint in everyone's faces, they were pissed off to hear that I, a not so popular kid in school, was given such a high role.

To my surprise, not only was I given a high role, I was also the leader of my class. Just for your information, the serials are used to identify the person, and who they are. A person has at least 2 of these. One, as for the class, and two, as for the school. Number 1 is usually based on how well you do in school, or in exams. And number 2 is based on when you joined the school. The second one never seems to change, whatever the reason. So the numbers keep getting higher and higher. My school is pretty new so far, so the numbers according to school serial only goes up to about 1200. The best thing about my school is that it has its own currency. I know, right? Isn't that so cool? It comes with its own canteen/shop which we can use to buy books, stationary, etc. The currency is named _____ as for the principal himself.
