3/14/2019 - this past week i got into resin making! i made 5 pendants, focused on organic pieces. ill need more pressed flowers to do more nature jewelry! my goal is to make 10 necklaces for my "Spring Collection", but I think I'll consider my flower crowns part of my collection. I am making it about transformation, and am very reluctant to list my personal books on ancient Greece and Rome. I also am reluctant to list my vintage jewelry, I love jewelry so so much.

It's expensive to sell on Etsy. ive spent .60 cents for 3 listings - my Greek book, and 2 flower crowns. There is a processing and Etsy fee. all day ive wondered what to sell my work for - i need money for more resin, stainless steel chains, business stamps and stickers, and hot glue. The whole reason why I'm making resin jewelry is to raise money for an MRI - an extremly costly test of almost $900.

Something in my reading yesterday for the week was that I am holding on to materialistic things too much. I do feel myself hanging on to my possessions, even though i'm desperate for medical tests and to pay off those looming debts.

If you start off at too low a selling point, you can ruin your chance of raising your price.

I think back to my first crochet sale: a one of a kind crochet crop top for $25. I could not replicate it now, with my new disabled arm, but also even if i hadn't injured myself, the design would be hard to duplicate, it would not be the same at all. the only reason it sold for low was because it was acrylic yarn and it was my first piece - so it wasn't the most adjustable. But thinking of the fan stitches, the lovely moss green yarn, and the advanced crochet technique to get the strawberries, it should have gone for $35. (at least) I still think it would have sold for $50.

i think back to the handmade jewelry i purchased and made a mental list of the prices -

key choker $15 (included shipping) really low quality materials, not happy with this purchase but super cute choker

witchy anxiety spell bottle necklace - $17, wore this constantly, got my money's worth, shipping and handling made it over $20 and nothing special came, no thank you note, business card, sticker, wrapped in pink tissue paper.

Baily Bee aqua quartz choker and seahorse pendant - $20 + shipping this was a huge sale, now her pieces are worth 3 times as much.

i spent all day taking photos and i still need more! ive listed 5 items and my goal was 10 for tomorrow but those last 5 will have to wait. something i saw today : go slow to go fast.

i came up with the idea in December, started growing an IG account for Hyla Brook Books. Watching resin jewelry making videos. i sold two vintage books which seemed like a sign to pursue my book shop. I dreamed of owning my own small bookstore, with cafe, and small stage, and art all around.

my mind is drifting. bookmarks to promote my poems and shop. stickers. tea bags. cute polymailers. but also a scale to weigh packages and a printer to print shipping labels.

i also want to set aside a private piggy bank for the MRI. its very important i focus on raisin money for this, with Brandons donations i should have at least 300. im trying to hold off on dental since i cant afford it.
