Chapter 2: We get kidnapped by a Cow Goddess (But we're ok though)

Hi, I'm Nathan, and my sister already introduced me, without my permission. Anyways, back to where Nova left off. We ran back to where we had left mom and dad, but they weren't there anymore.

"Where did they go?" Nova asked, suddenly worried. ['I was not!' 'Stop lying to yourself Nova'] Then, we heard screaming from the woods. I looked at Nova. She nodded, and we ran into the forest. When we slowed down, what we saw was horrifying.

Our parents were fighting a two giant sphinxes! On either side of the creature were two middle age men shouting in what sounded like ancient Egyptian. Glowing hieroglyphs were appearing out of thin air, and I understood them! My parents were doing the same thing! Hieroglyphs were everywhere, and I gasped. Words like destroy and fire whirled around me.

"Mom! Dad!" Nova shouted over the noise. They looked at us disapprovingly, but then turned back to the fight.

Me and Nova looked at each other, then she picked up a stick that looked a lot like a sword.

"Good thing I took those lessons!" She yelled, then charged. Nova is scary when she is fighting. ['I'm going to take that as a compliment' 'You do that'] She swung her "sword" at the sphinxes, and she actually wounded them. Dad stared at her and lost his concentration.

Mom didn't even have time to warn him before the magician on the right shouted something, then the hieroglyph for 'death' glared in front of my dad. He yelped in pain and then fell to the ground. In that moment, my mom shouted at me,

"You're the magic twin, Nathan, go to him! I'll help Nova!" I had no idea what she meant, but ran over to my dad. I know first aid and CPR, so that's what I thought she meant at the time. I checked his pulse. It was non-existent.

"His pulse isn't here." I mumbled to myself. I looked over at my sister. She seems to have killed one of the sphinxes. Killed it. My sister. ['I'm offended.' 'Shhh'] My mom was battling with a stick. Not like Nova was, but by using what looked like magic. Mom shouted, "Nova, go help your brother! I got this!" Not wanting to disobey, Nova ran over to me. "What's wrong with him?" she asked. "His pulse isn't here." I replied, "Cover me, I'm going to start CPR." "K," she said, and went into a defensive stance. I started CPR.

Just then, a blinding flash glowed around the clearing, and a woman appeared. The men stared at her, and then grabbed my mom and disappeared.

"Mom!" Nova shouted. I looked back down, but my dad was gone. My gaze went back to the strange woman in the clearing. She had long black hair and a white egyptian style dress.

"Hello, my heir and other. Follow me, and I might explain things." she said. Then I noticed her crown. She had on what looked like cow horns, with a red disc in the middle.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"Hathor," she replied, "The goddess of cows."
