The Deal

We made a deal.

It was to support, love, and be there for each other.

To make sure we feel better.

To be able to tell a joke just by looking at each other.

Things fall.

Like tears.

Like our feelings.

When you say things.

That you don't mean.

Your able to get back.

Laugh with each other once more.

It's a good thing.

Yet.

All good things come to an end.

First the words.

Next the falls.

Third is regret.

That's part of the deal.

That's part of the deal,  of friendship.

I now wish I could see through my curtain of popularity.

But I can't.

Or really.

I couldn't.

I broke the deal.

There was a rule.

Break the deal,  break my heart.

I didn't want it that way.

This isn't how it was supposed to go down.

Down.

Like my tears to the ground.

My head hurts.

From the falls.

School tomorrow will be tough.

What do you care.

I loved you.

I love you.

But I didn't show it.

That wasn't part of the deal.
