The clock struck 7 and it was finally time for dinner. I had spent the day sunbathing on the deck, drinking cool tropical drinks and just thinking about random stuff by myself. I wish I had a friend with me to make things more enjoyable. I hadn't seen Ryan or Alexander anywhere all day. I had tried to make new friends with other people here but soon gave up as it seemed everyone already had their own separate groups and inclusiveness was a foreign concept nowadays. It was alright I thought, I was fine by myself.
I made my way to the room to change for dinner, and as I opened the door I found it empty and couldn't help but feel a pinch of disappointment. Why did I feel that pinch of disappointment? I don't know. Today was my last night here anyways.
I grabbed a black dress deciding to dress up a bit tonight. Since no one was in the room I closed the door and started changing, singing silently to myself.
*Flush*
What the hell was that?! I whipped around just as Alexander came out of the bathroom in nothing but his boxers. My dress was still only halfway up my knees.
Oh crap
I saw his eyes widen and he tried to dash into the bathroom again, stumbling twice and almost slamming into the door
I couldn't help but suppress a giggle. I finished changing quickly calling his name when I was done.
He opened the door still covering his eyes. He had switched his boxers for black jeans but still no shirt, putting his abs on display which I couldn't help but stare at.
Repeatedly.
He has a girlfriend Tina!
Right. Sorry."Alexander. I have clothes on. You can open ur eyes"
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
He finally opens his eyes and looks at me. For a little bit longer than necessary in my opinion.
"Nice dress""Um...thanks"
"Hm"
"Soo, what were you doing here? I thought you would be with your girlfriend?"
His eyebrows slightly crease together and a foreign look settles over his eyes but it's gone as quick as it was came.
"Oh yeah. I was just taking a nap before taking her out to dinner. How bout you? What do you do all day?"
"Oh nothing. I was with Ryan"
"You..what?!" His eyes suddenly widen and I see worry? Or maybe anger swirling in them.
Truth is, I wasn't with Ryan at all. I just wanted to see his reaction and judging from it, something is definitely wrong between those two.
"Yeah he's a nice guy" I said hesitantly
"Tina. I thought I told you to stay away from him. Why don't you listen"
I know he's angry but I just don't understand why, and that makes me angry too.
"Listen to you? Give me one reason why I should listen to you of all people" I demand
"You know what your problem is? You think everyone has your worst interest in mind! Maybe I just want to look out for you. But you know what? Fine. Go to him. I don't even care anymore" he states before picking up a white button up shirt and starting to put it on.
"You're just crazy! Maybe I would listen to you if you actually told me why I should stay away from him! He has done nothing so far for me to cut him off. In fact, you don't even have to look out for me. I can do it by myself okay? and oh yeah, I forgot to tell you but today's my last night here. Tomorrow I'm getting my own room"
He suddenly stops putting on his shirt and stares at me.
"You're leaving tomorrow?"
"Yeah. The captain got me a new room""Oh."
"Oh"
He sighs and rubs his eyes."You know what? I'm sorry cherie. I'm just a very protective person, I can't help it. I just don't want you to get hurt. But forget all that, let's spend tonight together. I'm sure Christina can go to dinner with her friends for a night. Yes?"
What should I say? I should say no..
But I want to. I really really really really really want to. So I say...
"Yes"
"Great. I'll be waiting outside. Come out when you're ready" he states before walking to the door, sliding past me very closely.
Damn. I did not expect that turn of events. It's not a big deal, I tell myself as I quickly line my eyes with black liner and put on some blush and deep red lipstick. I look at myself and decide to let my hair down, it falls in soft curls framing my face. I think I look pretty.
Looking at myself one last time I grab my purse, take a deep breath and open the door.Alexander is waiting outside with his hand outstretched.
I take his hand and we walk across the desk.
I can't help but notice the stars. They seem to shine extra bright tonight..
