(Jo's POV)

Earlier today...

Hero's lips slowly work up my thighs towards my abdomen. When they reach my lips once more, I feel his hands grip my legs to pull them around his waist.

He rocks his hips against mine, causing a low groan to escape from my lips.

"Shhhh baby, we don't want to wake up Beau." Hero laughs against my mouth.

"He's probably not even home." I groan, bucking my hips up.

"So eager." Hero smirks before reconnecting his lips with mine.

It amazed me that after all these years, he still excited me in ways that I couldn't even begin to explain.

He hooks his index finger into my pajama bottoms before slowly pulling them down my legs, his lips never leaving mine.

The material is quickly discarded followed by his boxers. Hero reaches across to the bedside table and tugs open the drawer, pulling a silver packet out. Once the condom is on, I feel him stroke himself against me causing shivers to run up my spine.

I let out a breath of relief as he enters me, filling me with pure satisfaction and pleasure.

I never got bored of making love to my husband, feeling as though each time became better and better. I needed Hero to survive. He was a part of me as I was a part of him.

Hero's thrusts become harder and faster, going deeper and deeper to hit the spot that both sends us into our high.

Hero holds himself over me for a moment, recovering from his orgasm before slowly lowering himself down.

I wrap my arms around his shoulders, pressing our hearts against each other.

"That was a great way to start the day." He hums against me before placing a kiss on my neck.

"Do you have anything planned for the rest of it?" I ask.

"Nope. Thank god. I'm already exhausted." Hero laughs.

Hero and I have been working nonstop for the past twenty-something years of our lives, so having a day to ourselves was always a blessing in disguise. I wish we could spend those days with our children, but now that Annie has practically disowned us and Beau was rarely ever home, it felt very lonely here.

Beau had gotten into modeling much like Hero had, landing jobs left and right in places all over the world. On the off chance that he was home, I rarely saw him given that he was sneaking in and out of the house at random times of the night and day with random people.

I would tell him otherwise, but he was almost a nineteen-year-old man. He could do what he pleased.

As long as he was doing so safely and happily, I was fine.

Annie on the other hand...

To say I blamed myself for this whole situation with her was an understatement.

I found myself questioning my abilities as a mother and a mentor to her, given that she's wanted nothing to do with Hero and I for close to four... five years maybe?

Her reasoning was because she wanted to be her own person, but I knew it went much deeper than that.

Being that she was our daughter alone branded her with an uneasy life.

For as long as she and Beau could remember, they've been thrust into Hero and I's whirlwind of a life. The poor girl couldn't go anywhere without someone knowing she was mine.
