Rachel's POV
I glide through the field, dodging players and keeping up with the ball. I pause for a second when I reach the goal, take a deep breath, and kick. "GOAL!" I yell crazily, going wild. Hey, I'm allowed to celebrate. My team just won a championship soccer game! "YESSSSS!" my bestie, Sarah screams, going wild with me. I look over to the bench, and see our coach going crazy as well. He pours a jug of water over himself and starts dancing in victory. Everyone else except the other team is going crazy too. Parents, assistant coaches, players, vendors, etc. "OH EM GEEE!" Sarah yells. "WE FREAKING WON! THIS IS AMAZING!" I raise an eyebrow at her. "We are undefeated, remember?" I say. Sarah blushes slightly. "Oh yeah," she replies. Sarah was riding home with me today, so we walked to my mom's white Mercedes-Benz and toss our stuff in the trunk. "That was awesome," Sarah says, for the millionth time. I roll my eyes. "Whatever," she says. "You know it was." My mom drops Sarah off in front of her house, and drives us home. When I step out of the car, I can feel a pair of eyes staring at me. I turn around, but no one is there. I shrug and fiddle with my keys. "BOO!" a voice yells, and my friend/neighbor Diego jumps out. Startled, my reflex kicks in, and I
slug Diego in the arm. Hard. "JEEZ LADY! OWWW!" Diego says, rubbing his arm. I burst out laughing. "Moron," I say, rolling my eyes. "Soooooo," he says. "You won, right?" I pretend to cry. "Nooooo," I say, and 'sob' into his shoulder. Diego looks worried. "It's okay Rachey," he says, putting his arms around me. "Diego's here." I start laughing uncontrollably, and slug him again, this time softer. Diego looks confused, then mad. "Oh you better run," he warns me. Leaving the keys in the door, I sprint down the street, knowing Diego was right behind me. I look back and try to spot Diego, but don't see him. I stop in the middle of the street and look around. Suddenly, a speeding car comes down the street. Knowing I can't jump out of the way in time, I close my eyes and wait for the impact between me and the car. It never came. There was an impact, but it was between me and the ground. Someone had tackled me, I realize, as I drift off into unconciousness.

I look around as soon as I wake up. I'm in my bed, and a person is standing right in front of me. "Who the hell are you?" I ask angrily. "Lady, is your vision messed up?" the person asks. My vision starts to clear up. "Diego!" I say, relieved. "Who did you think it was, Santa Claus?" he asks sarcastically. "Actually, I was thinking the Easter Bunny," I say, giggling. Diego's expression changes. "WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING?" he yells. He paces around the room, looking mad, sad, and worried. "I was thinking where is Diego," I say honestly. "Smart alec," he says. "Doofus Con," I say. "I'm the doofus?" he says, raising his eyebrows. "If I recall, YOU were the one who stopped in the middle of the street and looked around." I blush, and he smirks. "But YOU were the one who thought make up day in P.E. was when you wore make up to school," I say, laughing. Diego turns bright red. "Well YOU thought that I was interested in you when I kept looking at your jeans," he says, also laughing. "I didn't know that I had spilled yogurt on them!" I defended, which made him laugh harder. Suddenly, the door opens and in walks a not so happy Jake. "Crap," Diego says, at the same time I say "Carp". "Rachel Florence Evergloss!" Jake yells. "WHAT THE HECK?" I turn bright red. "At least I didn't get hit and am not in a hospital," I offer. Jake runs a hand through his hair. "I know, and I'm glad. But sis, you scared the heck out of me. Don't ever do that again," he says. "Not planning on it, bro," I say. Jake smiles. "Good," he says. "But just so you don't...." Jake takes out a squirt gun and starts repeatedly squirting me. "JAKE!" I yell. He keeps squiring me. "If you don't stop, I'll tell mom and dad about the Math test!" I threaten. Jake stops. "Fine," he says. "What test?" Diego asks, a smirk on his face. Jake squirts me again. "Jake bombed his Math test," I say. "Dude!" Diego says. "That's like your 3rd F in a month!" Jake frowns. "Yeah," he says. "You could always get Sarah to tutor you," I tease. A look of fear passes on Jake's face. "NO!" he says immediately. Sarah scares Jake, even though they've known each other forever. She can smack people hard. And when I say hard, I mean like incredibly hard. But, Sarah is also a Math genius. Diego smirks. "Yeah, Jacob," he says. "Noooooo," he says. I pull out my phone and call Sarah. "Whaaaaat?" Sarah asks. "Can you tutor Ja-" I'm cut off by Jake snatching my phone and turning it off. "Ruuude!" I say. "#dealwithit," Jake says, smiling in victory. "#war!" I say. "Ready, set, go!" Diego says. "#1Disamazing," I say. "#imamazinger!" Jake says. "#whateveryousay," I say. "#youbejelly," Jake says. "#whateverputsyoutosleepatnight," I say. "#thatwouldbegirls," Jake says, winking at me. "#ewwyoudisguistinghumanbeing," I reply. "#whythankyou," Jake says. I pause, not knowing what to say next. "5, 4," Diego starts counting. "#igiveup," I say. "I AM THE #CHAMPION!" Jake yells, doing his awkward victory dance. Diego does some awkward moves with him. I yawn. "Weirdos," I mutter, before falling asleep.
