I didn't have to read the rest of the article. Just that one word triggered the hell out of my system causing me from staring into a blank space that got my hyungs worried.

"Yah, Yook Sungjae please go back to earth. Youve been staring at your phone for quite some time now." Ilhoon hyung tapped my shoulder.

Hyunsik hyung leaned forward and looked at the screen. "So its really true that you and Joy started to communicate with each other again. I can see you're reading a Red Velvet article."

"But he never stopped being updated about Joy, he just did it discreetly. A hopeless romantic, he is." Peniel hyung was teasingly smiling at me.

"Hyung, do you think after all these years Joy still likes me? I mean we confessed to each other on the show but we were too young that time. When the show ended our communication ended too because of the managements. But you know i remained faithful right? I didnt entertain dramas where i could have a possible leading lady cause I know she dislikes it. I dont go too near to other girls for her. Do you think she appreciates what I did even if we havent caught up for a long time?"

"Pabo, how can she appreciate that if she doesnt know youve been doing those things for her in the first place? Look at her, she already had two leading men two times, they got to kiss her. But who can blame her when shes just following the orders of her management?" What Ilhoon hyung said made sense.

"You know what maknae? Instead of just wondering here why dont you go and make the best of your life by showing your love to her. If thats really love then you've wasted enough time already."

"But Hyunsik hyung, I can't... "

"Wae!??" They said in unison.

"She's on the other side of the world right now, preparing for their concert. I can't just go there and you know that."

"Piece of advice here, if there's a will there's gotta be a way. For now go and rest so that youll have a clear head tomorrow to think of the right ways." Peniel hyung tapped my shoulder as they went to their rooms one by one.

I instantly called my manager and ask when i would have a free time on my schedule. Thankfully I had at least three days free and as i calculated it in my head it would fall on a week where Red Velvet will be in Canada. And the thought just made me more anxious.

I had a lot of regrets the day we parted on that show. There were a lot of things I wanted her to experience with me but sadly we ran out of time. If I had only just manned up earlier and showed her what she deserved, then we wouldnt have wasted tons of time on that push-and-pull scenario.

When the show ended, our managements instantly collected our phones and made sure our managers doesnt let us go near each other. Since we were a senior group, the company didnt impose harder rules but it was the exact opposite on her part. Knowing how SM works, i didnt doubt we'd be cornered like that.

With Joy's kind personality, she never avoided having interactions with my members especially Changsub and Hyungsik hyung who are close to her. Everytime our groups have the same schedule she would still talk to my members on stand by times behind cam, but not to me. I understand her though. She's not just protecting her image but her group as well. I just layed contented everytime we greet and bowed to each other. Professionalism at its best, so ironic.

Aside from my mom and my sister, i had always been captivated by her beauty not just outside but most especially inside. She is just so pure and genuine, and her honesty always leaves me in awe. She isnt afraid to say and express her feelings and that's what makes me more drawn to her.
