Author's POV:

"Y/n.. wake up my dear." The soft voice of Y/n's mother chimed softly, she swiped the hair that lay itself in front of her daughter's vision, also shaking her awake gently.

Y/n let out a small groan, emitting a light sigh of tiredness, "What..?" She croaked out weakly, bringing her hands up to her eyes and rubbing them with the palms of her hands. Her mother rested her hand onto her daughter's forehead, no temperature. She sighed lightly and shook her head.

Y/n pushed herself up with her elbows shakily, her eyes squinted as her vision focused onto her mother, "Y/n.. there is something that I must tell you." She pulled up her daughter and propped up a soft pillow behind her as she leaned back slowly, "What is it?"

The older woman shook her head in disbelief, her eyes suddenly roaming about the room in order to find an easy way of letting her daughter know that she would be taken for the next few months.

"Mother.. what's wrong? You look sad." Y/n butted in sheepishly whilst folding her arms over her chest. Silence hung in the dull air for what seemed like an eternity, her mother couldn't help but hold back on the situation that would take place in just an hour from now.

"Y/n.. you're 17 now, right?" Y/n nodded slowly, knitting her eyebrows together in slight confusion, "So that means you're old enough to go off alone without me and your father." Y/n frowned slightly, lowering her gaze onto the bed covers, "What do you mean? What's gonna happen?" Her mother tapped her foot nervously, she knew exactly how stubborn and defiant her sick daughter was but however, this was for the best.

"You remember the doctor, right?" Y/n lifted up her head and nodded slowly, she suddenly felt on edge, "I wish that I could've told you sooner but last night your illness was at its worst when the doctor came to visit."

Y/n made a weird look, she tilted her head to the side and huffed softly, "He was here yesterday? For how long?" Her mother reached out and took her hand into hers, looking straight into her eyes, "My dear that isn't exactly the point right now. Last night when he came round for a simple check up, it turned into something a tad bit more serious."

Y/n bit her lip in a nervous manor, "How.. how serious do you mean?" She swallowed and gripped onto her mother's hands, feeling her gentle thumb run across the top of her hand.

"I need you to cooperate with this, okay? It's for your health all together. The doctor needs you to stay with him for the next few months, just so that he can help your health improve and help you overcome this dread full illness."

Y/n frowned all together and pulled her hands away from her mother's, shaking her head, "You expect me to go along with some stranger for the next three months of my damn life just so I can get better? No! Why can't he come here?"

Her mother shook her head and placed her hand onto Y/n's arm trying to prevent herself from tearing up so easily, "Please my dear calm down, he cannot come here almost everyday just for your aid, her has other patients too that need his help, but you're more critical than the rest, no hospital can cure you like this man can."

Y/n huffed in irritation, tensing up in anger, "Whilst you were asleep last night I packed you a bag and it's ready by the door. The doctor told me not to wake you up, you need all the rest that you can get right now." Y/n kept frowning, she stared her mother down, feeling somewhat betrayed, "So, you're just letting this happen." Her mother shook her head for what seemed the tenth time, "I'm not just letting this happen I'm doing this for you. Without his help there would be a possibility that you could face death itself."

Y/n stopped fully, she lowered her head and shut her eyes, thought after thought ran through her head faster and faster.

A knock sounded at the bed room door as it pulled Y/n out of her thoughts suddenly, averting her gaze as her father walked in along with the doctor behind him. She winced at the sight of him, it seems like she had forgotten how tall he was, he also looked rather intimidating with that bird mask.

049 blinked once, looking Y/n up and down slowly. Her father shuffled over to her side, placing his hand onto her shoulder reassuringly, "Y/n, you do understand why we're making this decision?" Y/n looked at her father, a somber expression plastered onto her face, she knew it would be stupid for her to fight back against this, it WAS for her own good after all.

"I understand." She spoke quietly.

Her father smiled and nodded, ruffling her hair as he straightened his posture. Y/n avoided eye contact with 049, she kept her head hung down in disappointment, 049 intimidated her very much considering he never removed the mask from his face. Anything could be beneath it.

Y/n's mother slipped her hand into her daughter's, helping her out of bed slowly, "Can you stand?" Y/n slowly slid her feet onto the ground, pushing herself off of the bed. Her feet hit the floor fully as she leaned against her mother for a few seconds. She pulled away and stood up by herself, folding her arms and looking away from everyone.

The room was deadly silent, 049 began to grow impatient the longer the silence carried itself on for. He huffed in slight irritation, "Would you be so kind and pick up the pace?" All attention quietly turned to 049.

Y/n's father butted in, "O-of course! Y/n, please grab your coat and put your shoes on, we'll all be waiting for you in the living room." Y/n nodded slowly. Everyone strolled out of the room, her mother being the last one to walk out and shut the door behind herself.

Y/n lifted up her head and gazed towards the wooden door with a frown. She felt betrayed, upset, angry. Her parents were basically sending her off with a stranger that she only knew for the last few weeks. She would barely seem him anyways considering her illness kept her deep in slumber every time he visited.

Her shaky legs slowly brought her over to where her shoes lay. As she slipped them on, her hand automatically reached for her coat and slowly slid her arms into it.

She stopped suddenly and looked around the room one last time, for the next few months she would be spending her time under a doctor's care without visitation from her parents. It saddened her, knowing that she couldn't see her only family.

After looking around for one last time, Y/n left her room and shut the door behind her.

The sudden click of the door caught everyone's attention. 049 stood by the door with Y/n's bag over his shoulder. Her parents rushed over to her, smothering her with hugs and kisses for the final time in a while.

Y/n sighed softly and grimaced the more they touched her, "Everything will be alright, okay? I promise you this is for the best my dear." Her mother chimed with a reassuring smiled on her face.

Her father embraced her into a strong hug, rubbing her back in circles and kissing the top of her head, "We love you, Y/n. I promise these next few months will go by so quickly, you'll be home in no time."

049 watched with folded arms, he opened the front door and huffed softly, "Come along now, the sooner we get going the quicker you'll be back home my dear." You could hear the smile under his mask by just how the words left his mouth.

Y/n zipped up her coat and stuffed her hands into her pockets. She approached the doctor slowly and looked up at him with a neutral expression, "I'll take good care of her within my hospitality. Farewell now." 049 turned his body and strolled out of the front door, looking forwards the whole time.

Y/n followed behind him and looked back one last time to her parents. They smiled and waved at her, she returned the same gesture with a warm smile before carrying on out of the door. She stepped outside and inhaled the fresh, cold air, shutting the front door behind her.
