DO: Spell correctly. Perfect grammar is not all it's cracked up to be, but I'll admit it, I try my best to make my sentences make sense and to make them pleasant to the reader. Here's an example.
Jane went for a ride with her boyrfriend, through the thick, dense forest. "Hey." She turned to him with a glint in her eye. "You know, Jamie, I've always thought of you as a friend, right?" "Yes," Jamie nodded, concentrating on the road ahead. "And would you like that to change?" "Well," Jane smiled secretly. "I... I love you, that's all."
This is a lovely paragraph. You read it and smile, and feel all happy and gooey inside. (Maybe). Let's bring on Mr. Nasty paragraph right here... But before I do, let me say: I'm not a grammar/spelling nazi, but let me know which of these you really prefer?
DON'T: Spell incorrectly and use weird stuff! It gets on my nerves! Here's a few examples.
Jane wennt for a ride with her boyfrend, though the thick, dence forrest. Hey she turned to him with a glint in her i. you know jamie, ive always thort of u as a frend, rite? Yes jamie nodded, concentreting on the rode ahead.
Please, PLEASE!!!!!
Don't use italics when people are speaking. It doesn't make sense and I get confused, because italics is meant to emphasise, not serve as a speaking quotation mark. And spelling - there is a REASON that Wattpad put a spell check on the top of the page!
