You groaned in annoyance as someone knocked on the door.

You were half set on just staying in bed, not wanting to leave the warmth of the cocoon that you had made, and just letting the person tire themselves out. But the knocking wouldn't stop. If anything it just got more frantic.

You walked to the door, mentally planning the rant that whoever dare disturb your sleep was going to get. Pulling the door open you opened your mouth, only to immediately close it when you noticed who was there.

You took in the ragged appearance of the hero. The once bright red suit was now rumpled and covered in dirt, something the ego would have never let happen. His cape was nowhere to be seen, though with how windy it had been you suspected he might have lost it to the elements. His mask was no better than his suit, caked in mud and torn in places. Red lines ran down his face, bags under his eyes, and fresh tears streaming down his cheeks. Underneath his hood you could see his hair, damp and messy, it looked like he had been pulling at it. The bits of skin that were exposed looked like they had been clawed at, angry red marks covering them and a bruised and battered face.

What had the poor boy been through?

Before you could say anything the hero dove towards you, arms wrapping around you protectively, sobbing into your shoulder as he shook.

Reciprocating you soothed the hero, rocking side to side.

You worked your way back inside the house moving to the couch. Once he had calmed down enough you pulled back, looking him in the eyes. You could tell that he didn't want to talk about it, it was written all over his face.

"Hun... What happened?"

Shaking his head he pressed his face back into your shoulders, shaking harder.

You sighed. You weren't going to get anything out of him right now and you weren't about to push him.

Pushing him back gently you got up. A look of panic flashed across his face as his hands darted out to you, "Wait! Don't leave!"

Holding your hand out to him you waiting, him grabbing it almost immediately standing as close to you as humanly possible. Frowning slightly you walked towards your room, pulling him along.

You walked towards your bed, grabbing the fluffiest blanket that you could find, and crawled to the head of the bed wrapping the blanket around him. Picking up the television remote you asked a silent question. He nodded and you started flipping through the titles on TV until giving him the remote instead.

Putting on a Spider-man movie he curled up to you.

You passed out halfway through the movie, but Jackie-Boy Man waited until he heard your breathing slow before he allowed himself to relax.

He wasn't going to lose you.
