THE SUN came out on the once dreary day, but it was extremely deceiving as there was something deeper brewing. A chill breeze blew through the air that stayed true to January's normal weather. Today was going to be one of the final days before a cold front would come through. Parker walked alongside Patrick sneaking looks every once in awhile. She didn't understand why he brought her here, he wasn't saying much and it made her extremely nervous. She was fairly cold, her hands shaking in her pockets but she couldn't tell if it was because the temperature or Pat. Her head was pounding with the sound of rushing blood, steps feeling heavier and heavier.
"Why are we here? Wasn't expecting a walk in the park." Parker stared out over the short wall that separated them from a small creek down below a bridge. They were walking in a more secluded area of a Chicago park. Even though the day was wet and chilly, it was still nice in the park. Parker was bundled up in a warm winter jacket that probably seemed too excessive for this moment. Still the air made her face bright red and forced her to sniffle constantly. Patrick personally thought she looked adorable as he couldn't keep his eyes off her.
"I was hoping we could talk,"
"Talk about what?" the girl's stomach dropped, she was absolutely terrified of what he could say. By now she had lost all hope of him asking the question she desperately wanted him too. She even went out and got shitfaced trying to forget all this, "we could've talked inside.."
"Didn't want to. And it's about us."
"U-us?" He seemed so nonchalant with how he said it. His voice was stern and right to the point as he looked at her, almost nervous. Maybe she had given up hope too early.
"I think it's time we did, don't you think? I mean.. there's some stuff we gotta at least figure out. We can't go and ignore each other forever."
"I'm confused."
"Parker..." Patrick moved so he was standing in front of the shorter girl. Her back was now suddenly up against the stone railing as she stared up into his eyes, completely encased in his warmth. He cupped her cheek with one of his hands, "I.."
"Pat?" Her voice was faint and filled with insecurity. Her chest felt like it was about to burst by how closely intimate they were as she yearned for more of his touch.
"You mean so much to me Parker. I-I look at you and.. god it's so hard for me. You're absolutely beautiful and I've fallen for you so hard." nerves tingled through his body as he wanted to be careful with each move he made.
Parker gaped up at him unable to process what he was saying to her. It was everything she wanted to hear and more, and it seemed unbelievable. Patrick knew he couldn't back down now, everything he wanted with the girl he loved was in reach.
