"But i'm so fun to hang out with" the blonde boy says.

The train comes to a stop and I look out of the window to see that we are at my stop.

"Excuse me" I say.

He gives me a confused look and moves to the side. I race off the train and quickly turn the corner. Who even was that kid?  It doesn't matter now I just need to get to work. I work at a small retail store called "Sally's", I have been working there for about two years, and I mainly work in the back where I unpack clothes. My manager Sarah allows me to work in the back because she knows how I am. She is sweet, understanding and caring but she is too old for me to call her my friend. Once I get inside  I am greeted by her warm smile.

"Hey! I left some boxes in the back for you. It should keep you busy until your break" She says with smile

I swear she is the happiest person I know.

"Thanks I'll see you in a bit"

I walk to the back and begin to cut open the boxes and sort them. My mind wanders off for a bit before I feel a vibration in my back pocket. I remove it from my pocket and look to see that it is my mother calling.

"hello"

"Hey Kar you weren't here when I woke up I was worried" she says with concern.

"Yeah I left a little early for work"

"Oh ok, Well I probably won't be home by the time that you get back so you can order some food for tonight ok?"

"Ok mom, I gotta go you know I can't be on the phone at work".

"Ok i'll let you go" she laughs.

"I love you" she says.

"I Love you too" I whisper.

"Aww is that your mommy" I hear a familiar voice from the back of the room.

It must be Brooke, She goes to my school we've been going to school together since elementary school like Jennie and I. She's always been the bully of our school as well as the most popular. I have no clue on why people like her other than the fact that she has long strawberry blonde hair and ocean blue eyes. She started working here during the summer just my luck right? She usually doesn't talk to me but today I guess I am just unlucky.

"Erm..no" I manage to say while pushing my brown ringlets from my eyes.

"Sure it wasn't" She says as she leaves the room.

The rest of the day goes by pretty swiftly after my unlucky encounters this morning. By the time I am finished with work it is almost sundown and Brooke had been long gone thank god. Before I leave I let Sarah know that I am leaving and we exchange goodbyes. When I make it outside it is a little chilly but peaceful. The streets are mainly quiet and desolate besides the few cars that drive by every few minutes. Its beautiful. The way the sun peeks through the large buildings comforts me. I reach for my back pocket to check the time and it is exactly six o' clock.

I turn the corner that I raced around this morning to escape from that irritating preppy school boy. I sit on the bench and wait for the six fifteen train. While I wait I throw in my headphones to once again avoid anyone that approaches. It is very unlikely that anyone shows up because it's too late for anyone to be taking the train right now. I let the music take me away until the train sounds and takes me away from my thoughts. I am grateful for the trains warmth. I sit down and scoot as close as I can to the heater on the walls. I once again doze off from the comfort and safety I feel from the train. I am fast asleep until the vibration from my phone wakes me. Its a text from Jennie.
