chapter 2

As we started to walk to my house, an awkward settled over the two of us. I was just about to say something when he blurted out, "Wanna play twenty questions?" I nodded.

"How old are you?" He asked.

"14. How tall are you?"

"5'11. What shoe size do you wear?"

I hesitated. "You can't make fun of me." He nodded. "10." He sucked in a breath.

"Wow."

"What's your favorite color?"

"Blue. What's your favorite song?"

"Break free by Ariana Grande." I smiled at him. It felt nice to actually be able to talk to my crush. "This is my house." I pointed to the house in front of us.

"Alright. I'll see you tomorrow." He waved and walked back the way we had just come from. I had turned to walk up to my house when a hand gripped my arm. I turned my neck and saw Matthew standing there.

"Can I have your number so I can text you later?" I smiled and told him. He put it in his phone and walked toward his house.

I walked inside and threw my bag onto the couch. I flopped down next to it and let out a sigh. I turned on the tv and saw that Pretty Little Liars who as on. It was the episode where Hanna gets hit by a car.

I had a pretty normal night although Matthew and I had a lengthy conversation about kangaroos (don't ask). I wanted to smash my alarm clock to pieces in the morning like always. I got up anyway and made myself look good for school. I walked down to the entrance of the subdivision and got on the bus. I sat down next to a guy and was surpised to see Matthew. He gave me a cute smile and we talked.

At school I dragged Jess to math class with Lizzy. We sat and talked until the bell rang. Jess went up to sit in her seat in the front. I sit next to Lizzy and Jess sits next to Cameron. I saw him sit down. I pssted her and made a heart with my hands. Her face turned red and she turned towards the front. Cameron leaned over and whispered something in her ear. She nodded and smiled.

Th day went on boring as usual until lunch. I sat down at our bench first then I saw Jess coming from the math and science wing. She sat down next to me.

"Hey, what did Cameron whisper in your ear this morning?" I asked.

"Nothing, just that he wanted to talk to me during lunch." She shrugged. Lizzy came and sat down by us. Cameron approached our bench and asked Jess to homecoming and gave her a little tiny plastic rose that could fit in the palm of my hand which was really sweet. She said yes of course and we teased her about it the rest of the day. I just wish that someone would be that sweet to me and a certain someone named Matthew Espinosa.
