Dean knew this mission was going to be hard. He knew it would be dangerous, and he knew it would probably cost him his job if he failed. He adjusted his mask and began to climb through the crowd.

He reached the edge of the crowd and leaned himself up against a pillar so as to get a better view of the room. He scanned the people milling about and straightened his tie. He grabbed a shot of whiskey from a passing waiter and downed it.

He wasn't supposed to be drinking on the job, but what harm could one glass do? He wasn't a lightweight in any matter, that was for sure. Setting the glass down, Dean sighed and resumed his search. It had only been a minute, or less, when Dean found him.

Lucifer. Lucifer Shurley, infamous mafia leader and drug lord. He had been hired by Micheal to slaughter this man, and he planned to follow through. Where Lucifer was standing, there were bodyguards everywhere, so Dean decided to make his way to a better vantage point. He climbed the stairs and made his way past the few people on the second floor.

There were only a few drunk girls going into a room and a sleeping old man in another, so Dean figured he was good. He walked around until he was standing at the perfect angle. From here, he would be able to hit Lucifer straight in the skull. He pulled out his gun, one good shot would do the trick.

After taking off his masquerade mask and putting on his real mask (ventilation and identity protection incase things went south) he set up his aim, steadied his hand, and breathed. With that, he pulled the trigger. The gun made a slight sound with the silencer as Dean watched his handiwork. As soon as the bullet hit Lucifer,...... IT BOUNCED OFF!
'Shit!' Dean knew what this meant. He ducked beneath a ledge as shrieks erupted from the party below.

There was no time to think about the fact that Lucifer was his soulmate, Dean knew he had to leave so he began to scurry along the wall to the window at the end of the hall. Down below the screams were still going, but above it all Dean heard Lucifer ordering his men to find the assassin. He had almost made it to the end of the hall when he heard a gruff voice call "Freeze!"
'Son of a Bitch' Dean thinks as he drops his gun and turns around, his hands above his head. There in the hallway stand five of Lucifer's bodyguards and Dean curses as he feels more appear behind him via a service door. He looks around, assessing his situation before coming up with a plan. About three steps to his left, the balcony had a drape hanging off it. If he could distract them for a few seconds, he should be able to make a get away via the cloth. Deans saw the men surround him and is grateful he put on his mask before aiming, not only so they wouldn't know who he was, but because of what he was going to do. He reached for the smoke bomb in his bow tie, and before the guard could even tell him to stop, smoke was filling the corridor. He dashed to the edge and grabs the silky fabric leading to the lower level. The guests were screaming in panic as he dropped down and began to run. He twisted through many hallways, with the sound of boots following him everywhere. Somewhere Dean must have taken a wrong turn, because he found himself at another dead end. 'Dammit! Motherfucking S.O.B!' Dean shouted to himself as he was backed up against the wall, yet again by more bodyguards. Looking all around for escape (deja vu much?) he found a window to his right, and with one quick look and wink at the men, he jumped at the glass barrier, laughing as it shattered and he flew out onto the perfectly trimmed lawn.
