Hearing the commotion echoing from the craft's quarters of the small walled city in the heart of the Purgatory, a portion of the forces from two more holes flew to the hole where the wyrm was. Feeling that more demons flocked to their aid, the wyrm tried its best to flee. However, it was not stuck in its burrow, being held in place by the giants.

With its eyes pierced by the succubus and the Lord of Hell, it could helplessly wriggle and use the vibrations in the ground to direct itself home. Then again, if it couldn't shake off the vice grips of the giants, it was all for naught.

Of course, Kris didn't give it any more chances to escape. Everything that dealt damage and posed a threat to his home was fated to die as soon as Kris laid his eyes upon them. He had no idea why the wyrm decided to attack them; neither did he know how it got a whiff of their location. However, even if he would order for an interrogation, none of his demons speak wyrm at least. It would be useless, and so he just decided to kill it.

Given that it wasn't able to leave for the next minutes, the wyrm soon fell. However, its attempts to escape had channeled a great deal of force against the earth. Also, its hidden tunnels and huge holes gave the earth much room to move. Before Kris knew it, the ground started shaking violently.

You looked up and saw the stalactites moving. Dirt had also started falling bit by bit from the high ceiling—your face even received a few sprinkling. You dusted your face and stood up from where you were, only to feel the rumbling from underneath.

More wyrms?!

"Everyone, evacuate!" Kris swiped his sword, producing a surge of darkness that passed through his demons. Even though they didn't hear his voice, the force made them escape as fast as they could. He only stared at the wyrm that laid dead in front of him before flapped his wings. He was about to go when he noticed you were too bewildered to even feel his warning.

Before you knew it, he grabbed you by the waist and carried you in one arm. That was lucky—if he didn't take you away, you would have been crushed by a stalactite that fell.

Not only the crafts' quarters, but even the majority of the city was being crushed by the falling debris from the ceiling and the stalactites that came with it. The Dark Castle suffered from the cave-in, but its structural strength withstood the damages. It just got buried under rubble and got inaccessible.

The demons had fled away from the city and towards the place near the exit of the Purgatory. Sarah had her succubi and winged demons direct the soldiers to the safe spots they found as they scouted ahead. She had a grave expression on her face, knowing that it was very bad for someone to dare attack the city. Perhaps the culprit thought they could have gone away with it if Kris got buried alongside his demons.

Though the place would be fixed by magic and unity, its destruction would still become a blood debt to be paid ten folds.

All of their demon eyes stared at the scene and watched in horror as the city was almost demolished by the wyrm's hidden actions. Now that the wyrm was dead, most demons thought they had no creature to blame. However , Kris and Sarah had this look on their faces—as if someone deliberately forced the wyrm to destroy the place.

To find something that could live underneath the city without Kris paying attention to it was already a hard feat to find. Coupling it with its means and ability to cause serious damage meant grave efforts were placed. Someone attacked them and managed to hide their face behind the wyrm; they should enjoy their remaining life before they receive the punishment from the ruthless Lord of Hell.

Dirt and rubble were being dug from the path leading to the Dark Castle's doors and windows. Stalactites were being removed from the shacks that got hit during the quake. A sob came to you when you stared at the big-bodied demons work on taking the stalactite that pierced through your shack. It wasn't much, but it was still your house.

"You!" A gargoyle called out to you. "Lord Kris wished to see you. Follow me!"

Kris wished to see you?! What did that mean? Warmth surged across your face as you flew behind the gargoyle that called for you. As you flew, the warmth subsided, dragging you back to reality. Traversing through the urban quarters showed you the resentment on the faces of the demons whose houses were destroyed. They might be just demons, but they still decorated their homes with valuables they managed to pick up from the world above.

You saw Kris in a crowd somewhere in the vacant lot between the urban quarters and the crafts' quarters. He was encircled by high-ranking demons like Sarah. They seemed to be discussing about serious matters. His eyes then ventured through the crowd straight to yours. You lowered your head as you reached the outer circle of the crowd.

"I'd be back in days. Make sure you do your jobs correctly." Kris dismissed the demons who gave him a bow before dispersing. His tone was not harsh for blaming them; it was more like an urge for them not to mess up since a lot of demon lives rested on their shoulders. Aside from Sarah, none of them remained.

"You reckless dog, come here." Kris' eyes sharpened as he looked at you. You shuddered at the rude address, but you knew you could have done something wrong. "I'd be taking you outside the Purgatory with me so don't dare repeat your recklessness earlier."

You lifted your head upon hearing his words. You looked around you before pointing at your face. You? Why you? You're just a lowly succubus—you're not even passable to be called a succubus.

Kris sighed and placed a hand on his waist. "Are you coming or not?"

You gazed at Sarah who was looking at Kris. She returned your gaze and gave you a faint smile. "Hm? Well, he asks for you; what can I do? Besides, I would have to watch over the place for him. Go on."

A nod came from you. You had no idea why you were chosen to accompany the Lord of Hell; perhaps you should have been careful of what you wished for.
