When you first heard about catching a rabbit for dinner using your Seduction magic, you thought Kris was only kidding you. However, after a few hours of failing to catch one, you had begun to sob. You had been hovering and following those little critters, hoping your pink beam would be able to hit them. However, their instinct to run was too strong for you to counter.

Since you were tired, you decided to walk back to your little camp. You saw Kris leaning against the tree, his arms crossed on his chest. He was seated on the ground, dozing as if he was in a rather safe place. There were a lot of nocturnal hunters in the area, and yet Kris was not even bothered by them.

Perhaps it was because of his demon aura. Even though there were howling nearby, wolves dared not to come near the place where he was resting. You stood there at the distance, only relying on your demon vision to see how peaceful Kris' face was when he's asleep at night.

Growling.

You heard growling next to you. You turned around and saw three wolves gazing at you with great hostility. Ah, Kris did say you can try a wolf if rabbits won't work. Then again, wouldn't it look like you were their dinner instead?

In panic, you hopped off of the ground to avoid their lunges. You hovered closer to Kris, watching all those wolves glare at you with their all. Their fangs were all glistening under the bright moon, and their growls had been paralyzing. If only you were a tad more scared, you would have stumbled.

Then again, you were. You fumbled your descent next to Kris, losing balance after stepping on uneven footing. You fell back and knew that you had crashed into some kind of slick battle armor. Due to your panic, you failed to control your fall—even knocking your head on the ground. When you thought someone would be catching you, you ended up soundlessly writhing in place.

"What are you doing?"

Kris glared at you as he opened his eyes. He wasn't unaware of the wolves since he wasn't really sleeping. However, he was indeed curious as to why you would end up on him... but not in a position that would irk him. If he could say so, it was rather funny since you weren't sitting at all—you were like a vine that fell and curved since there was a rock underneath.

You were not aware of his thoughts. When you heard him, you tried to roll to the side to avoid more humiliation. Then again, his leg was in the way—you only ended up sitting up using it as a guide. Now, you were really seated on him. Warmth felt like it was blinding you so you didn't dare look at him. Your attention was soon placed on those wolves which were slowly inching towards you two.

Your lord only gazed at them, sending them away while crying in fright. How chilling must his eyes be to scare away an Alpha wolf with just a gaze? You sighed in relief, even propping your chin on your hands that cupped his knee.

"Get off." Kris frowned, using a hand to push you off gently.

After a series of apologies, you only sat next to him and lamented your failure. You then stared at your hands that tried to gleam pink. By the faintness of the color, you could only sob and be frustrated; why were you so weak? You couldn't even charm a little creature. You pulled your knees to your chest and rested your head on your knees. There should be something you could do to get stronger.

Ah, Kris must had made the wrong decision to take you. In fact, you still don't have an idea why he took you with him instead. Maybe he should just take another demon who was strong enough to support him. Right, another demon who could shoot out the same chilling gaze at scary creatures and send them running for their money.

Chilling gaze?

You suddenly pulled your head back and stared at the moon above you. Thinking about Kris somewhat sparked something inside your head. You then glowered at the moon; you're a demon. How many times had you been forgetting that? Perhaps it was what you had been missing!

You got up and looked at Kris who was back to his nap. You flapped your wings and went into the wilderness to try it out again. With a stronger resolve, you thought you could do it if you put your mind into it.

...

The sky had grown rather faded as the sun threatened to come out once again. Instead of napping next to Kris, you found yourself hanging like a sleeping tiger on a branch. Your form was the only thing that resembled a tiger; your strength? No comment. You remembered the failure from last night and sobbed again. You were chased by wolves, and you could only stay on the tree top until you passed out from heartache.

You tried to be more hostile to the animals, only for them to break their records of either fastest fleeing speed or loudest growl made in their lives. That chilling gaze wasn't the answer to your problems unfortunately. You continued to sob against the branch before you felt a presence underneath the tree.

Your little face peeked through the width of the branch, and your eyes widened as you saw Kris standing under the tree. He was looking up at you with a frown of disbelief. Last night, you suddenly sat on him while he was napping, and the next thing he knew you were napping high in the canopy of a tree hundred feet away from him.

Descending from your safe place was the most you could do. You kept your head low in embarrassment and disappointment. You played with your fingers as you told him what happened—even your deep thoughts spilled from your mouth. You didn't want to make him reject you, but you were scared you might be... lacking to walk next to him.

The frown stayed on his face before he shook his head. He reached out to pat your head thrice. "I don't mind you asking me for tips. Even though I'm not a succubus, I could tell what you're supposed to do. Don't run around doing some kind of secret training without a clear idea how to get stronger."

He recalled his hand and turned around to start walking ahead. "Think about it again while we're walking. We're heading out before the sun rises." A gaze from over his shoulder was given to you when you finally lifted your head. "You might lack strength, but you have a strong will. That's good enough for now. Just figure out what you're fighting for first before persevering. Without any goals in mind, you're not achieving anything."

You rigorously nodded in agreement. Your admiration kept on growing, and you hoped your strength would follow suit as you hovered right next to your lord.
