Colby's POV
I wish I could've seen the look on Niall's face on that very moment. Or just be able to see his face.
But I couldn't.
Not now or ever.
"I thought parks in the city only existed in movies!" He exclaimed.
Is he senseless?
"Niall how long have you lived in New York?" I curiously ask him as we cross the street and start walking onto the dirt path in the quiet park.
"I just moved here from Ireland with my girlfriend, Lola, about a week and a half ago."
"And you guys didn't consider touring the city yet?" I challenge.
"Well it's a big city."
"True. Anyways, if you don't mind me querying, what made you so stressed earlier?"
"Lola." Niall muttered.
"And what did she do?"
"She wants to move back to Ireland."
"And you don't wish to go I'm predicting?"
"Exactly."
"Why doesn't she just stay?"
"I don't know."
"Why don't you go alongside her?"
"Because I left Ireland to get a fresh new start."
"Well do you guys love one another?"
"Of course!" Niall remarks with no hesitation.
"Well I don't know a lot about affection, but I noted somewhere that if you love something you have to set it free, and if it doesn't comeback it wasn't meant to be."
"But I don't want to let her go." Niall glumly states.
"Niall, just accomplish whatever you assume is the right thing to do." I informed.
Niall doesn't respond to me subsequently. He is perhaps deliberating on what to do.
He yanks me downward with him, to what I suppose is a bench.
I hope I gave him good information on his situation.
"Thanks Colby. I think I know what to do now." Nialled sighed.
"No problem." I tilt my head in his direction and give him a small grin.
"Do you read a lot?"
Does he mean my audio books?
"Well yes, I guess? But only mystery and adventure." I confirm with a little head nod.
"Really? I thought you would be into all that romancey stuff."
Ew. No. No. No. Never in a million years would I read a romance novel.
"Never." I protested.
"Why not? I'm actually quite into romance novels." He states boastfully.
I snort really loudly at the thought of Niall reading romance novels.
"Aye, you have to admit that they are really good."
"No, I have to admit that they aren't really good." I smirk at him.
"Well what's not to love about them?" Naill recalls.
"Too cliche." I retort as I lean my head back.
"Too cliche?" He gasps.
"Too cliche." I smirk.
"And how so?"
"They always do the same thing in basically every story! The only difference is that they all have different pasts. They always kiss in the rain, fall madly in love with each other, oh, and worst of all they always fall in love at first sight. Ugh." I groan.
"What so wrong with falling in love at first sight?"
"Nothing, it's just that it is impossible. You can't fall in love with someone just by looking at them once!"
"So I take it that you don't believe in love at first sight?" He asks.
"Of course not." I reply.
"And why is that?"
"Because I'm blind."
