Colby's POV

I lock the door behind me once I get inside. "Dallas I'm home." I yell in a sing song tone. I ovehear the thumping of what supposedly is Dallas running down the stairs.

"Well what's got you in a dandy mood?" Dallas asks.

Niall.

"Nothing." I cheekily smile.

"Darn. Come on Colby. Tell me, is it a boy?"

"No!" I yell as my cheeks begin to heat up. I swear I'm going to kill Dallas one day. Just kidding I won't because he buys me food. I can feel Dallas start to pinch my cheeks.

"Aw my little baby is all grown up."

I swat his hands away. "Shush! I'm only three years prior to you." I pout.

"Aw you and your big words, any who, wait for me in the den, I'm gonna run by Dunkin Donuts and get us some coffee so we can talk about this 'nothing'." I can hear Dallas walk around me and unlock the door.

"I'm not telling you anything!" I yell as he leaves.

I start walking to the den. This is what I like about living in this place. I know exactly where everything is so I don't have to use my cane. My cane. MY CANE! Ugh. I was having such a grand time with Niall that I forgot my cane on the bench.

Right as I am about to sit down on the couch there is a pounding on the door. Dang, Dallas is really fast. I stand up to go unlock the door. Once I unlock the door and open in I am surrounded by a massive hug. Wait what?

"C-colby?" It takes me a moment to register who is saying my name. Niall. Niall said my name.

"Niall what's wrong?"

"Lola. She left and I never got to say b-bye." Niall's voice cracks at the end as he hugs me tighter. He sounds like he is on the verge of tears, which makes my heart ache even more for him.

"Come on Niall let's go to the den." I say as I lead Niall to the den. Niall doesn't let go of the hug while we walk to the sofa.

We plop onto the sofa and Niall lets go. He sniffles and begins saying,

"She left a note."

"What did it reveal?" I say leaning my head onto his shoulder inhaling his scent (which isn't weird at all). It's hard to describe what he smells like, it's like breathtaking, but calming to the mind. He smells sort of like when the breeze hits you when you're at the beach-

"I-it says-," Oh my gosh I need to stop sniffing Niall and listen to him.

I can hear the crinkling of paper which indicates Niall is probably getting out the note.

He coughs before starting, "Dear Niall," he inhales, "I'm sorry I didn't want to tell you about me leaving until this morning. I am just really homesick and I don't think I'm ready to move all the way across the world with you just yet. I guess that this is goodbye. If you ever want to visit me here's the address..."

"Niall I'm so sorry." I say as I hug him tighter and nuzzle my head into him.

"It's just that, I didn't even get to say goodbye." He whispers.

We sit there on the sofa for a little while longer. I sit there nuzzled up to him while I listen to his quiet breathes and slow heartbeats.

Out of friendliness of course...

I hear the unlock of the door and before I could let go of Niall, I hear,

"Oh so this is the 'nothing' you were smiling about earlier hmm."

Dallas I swear I'm going to kill you one day.
