Now let me set the scene. You and Dani Noriega have been friends since you were in diapers. She was and always will be your best friend. But lately, she has been looking at you as if she wants more. The year is 2013 and she has just started doing drag as Adore Delano...

"Dani are you ok?" You asked your friend from the bathroom where she was trying to tuck. "I'm fine Y/N! I did it!" she said, a sense of accomplishment in her voice. "Well I'm happy for you." you said semi-dryly but genuinely. The door opened and out came Adore, looking very good for a baby queen. You hugged your friend and felt her cheeks flush almost instantly. You gave the drag queen in front of you a confused look and asked something that had been on your mind for a while now, "Dani, why have you been acting so strange around me? Do you like me or something?" You asked semi-seriously. "Yes Y/N, I'm in love with my best friend, cliche as that sounds. I wanted to tell you but I was just too nervou-" Without thinking, you cut her off by kissing her lips. You wrapped your arms around her neck, and she wrapped her arms around your waist. When you pulled apart, all you could feel were sparks. You felt...alive, in love. And while you didn't want to rush into anything, you sort of just blurted out a question, "Dani, will you go on a date with me?" You asked gingerly, not wanting your heart to be snapped in half. "Yes!" she squeaked, very enthusiastically at that. You already lived together, so that saved the hassle of picking anyone up. You set an alarm for 7:30 and booked an Olive Garden reservation because you panicked. You told Dani where and when you were going and went to go get ready. She de-dragged then got changed into the most...formal...thing you had ever seen her wear, even if that was a low bar. You threw on a short-sleeved dress and leggings, thought about what to do with your hair before forgetting about it entirely, and put heels on just in time for your damned alarm to go off. And scare you half to death. You insisted on driving and being the designated driver because somehow, you just knew Dani would be at least slightly tipsy by the time you were done. First date nerves will come for you, regardless of how well you and your date may know each other, after all. Two hours came and went and when Dani told you she had a good time, you felt like that was your biggest life achievement. You drove home, neither of you drunk, but both of you in love with one another, so same difference, really. We'll call it even. Even though you knew damn well how the other felt, you decided you and Dani would take things slowly, and go on a few more dates before getting serious. "This will be an interesting relationship," you thought to yourself as you drifted asleep that night.
