Adore's songwriting process starts back up again just as shit starts getting real with #5. By that, I mean sleep-deprived Danny cries upon hearing their heartbeat for the first time. Date: May 5, 2019
You were just over two months, ten weeks to be exact, as you had found out at the last appointment you had, for which you were back in California. It all seemed so surreal, as it often did when you were pregnant. Danny, bless her soul, was a sleep deprived mess, given she had started writing songs, but writer's block comes back to bite her in the ass every now and then. She took a break today, mostly because you yelled at her. "Danny, before you give yourself insomnia, take a god damn break!" were your exact words. "Not sure if that's how insomnia works, but okay." she responded tiredly. You slapped her on the arm lightly. "Okay, fine!" she caved, laughing. You made sure to keep her far away from that writing desk as you could, Lucas helping you out by distracting Danny. You had gone to check on Oliver and the girls, then when you went back into your room, you found Danny and Lucas, asleep. You weren't sure if it was hormones or just how cute it was, but you felt tears start to prick at your eyes. Lucas seemed to sense that you were right there, and that Oliver, without you realizing, had sort-of crawled beside your foot. "Ollie moved!" Lucas whisper-yelled, not wanting to wake up Danny. "Wait what?" You and Danny said at the same time, Danny jolting awake. "Huh, so he did. Why do I have the feeling he just scooted on his arms?" "Probably because he did." Diana said from behind you. "I followed him to make sure he wouldn't hurt himself..." She said sweetly, smiling at her brother. "What'd he do?" Amelia said from behind her sister. "Oh my god, she has my attention span." Danny laughed. "Ah!" Oliver made a noise from his spot on the floor. You picked him up and handed him to Danny. Oliver smiled at his mother and brother, who was peering over Danny's shoulder at the infant. You and your daughters smiled at your boys, before Amelia said something interesting, "The last time I was on momma's phone, I saw a video of the baby's heartbeat. She said she was gonna show you, but blacked out before she could." "Amelia Noriega, I swear to god." You sighed. To prove your daughter's point, you handed Danny your phone. When she unlocked it and saw what Amelia was on about. "Y/N...what the-when was this?" she asked, her eyes widened. "Two days ago, but like your blabbermouth daughter said," "HEY!" "She's not wrong..." Diana said. "Girls...anyway, like Amelia said, I was too tired to show you by the time I got back." You explained. Danny set Oliver down on the bed beside Lucas, and got up. Before you could comprehend what she was doing, she hugged you really tightly. "Can't breathe, Dan." You laughed. "Sorry. Oh my god...that's a fucking person..." she said, still holding you close. "Mhm." You hummed, not wanting to give a full on answer and start bawling. What you were going to say was, it was your person, and that was a beautiful thing in itself. Lucas scooped up Oliver, only to set him down next to you and Danny. Lucas, Diana and Amelia hugged either you or Danny, Oliver sitting on your other side. You and Danny smiled at each other. Once again, it all seemed so surreal. You built a family with your best friend, who in your eyes, was one of the best to build said family with.
