Now almost halfway through the New year, and the twins having just turned one, you run into Danny in an almost fuck-you-from-fate type of way. Date (beginning): June 1, 2018.

You recently took a job at a Starbucks during the day, but took a bartending gig during the nights. Bonnie didn't take sides and still saw her grandchildren, but never watched them during the nights for one reason or the other. Ironically, you and Courtney had become extremely close during this whole fiasco, so it was often her who watched the kids when she was around, which was more often, now. Occasionally, your surrogate parents took them, and it warmed your heart to see them build that relationship, especially while Lucas' relationship with Danny was currently...complicated. Most common though, Courtney or Bianca, who was pissed at Danny. "Roy Haylock, don't you dare choose your friends because of me." You often lectured. You already had to deal with your adoptive sister unofficially doing so. Also, it's worth mentioning that her parents legally adopted you in March, so that was fun! Back to the plot. Roy would often roll his eyes in a way that would normally worry you if you weren't aware you had firmly planted yourself in his soft spot. "Y/N, you're kind of like a sister to me, so you'd better believe I'm going to." was his defense. That was similar to your now-sister's response, although that was not only the first time you called each other siblings, but the first time you had ever seen or heard her do that. Since then, it wasn't uncommon for you to make an effort to see each other in person, more, and the kids had gotten quite close with their cousin, Jenna. Given you worked two or three jobs at a time to afford accommodations, which you moved into in February, you rarely saw your son and daughters, even rarer than Danny. You planned to share custody if you got divorced, but Lucas simply wanted nothing to do with the person he once adored. You were bartending at a drag bar, dreading the night you'd be there when Adore was performing, since it was one that was incredibly close to where you used to live with her- where she still lived. However, tonight was a huge "fuck you" from fate. Adore was singing I Adore You, looking directly at you, without anyone, including yourself realizing she was doing so. As she finished, she began singing a song she didn't write, one the last ones you listened to, and told her you'd done so awhile ago, when you were under the same roof, My Love, My Life. You recognized the song immediately, and your heart began to break in two. Old school music fans in the audience cheered when she finished. This concluded her set, so she headed towards the bar. You looked down as you cleaned shot glasses. "Y/N, I know it's you." Adore said. "Well done, Sherlock." You huffed. "Can I get you anything?" You asked, wanting this to be over with. "You can get your ass back home so you don't have to live in a hotel." You rolled your eyes at your soon-to-be-ex-if-she-wasn't-careful's remark. Although, the part of you that still understood and knew her more than anyone else, aside from your sister, was fighting not to laugh. "Look Noriega." You asserted, slamming a glass onto the bar. "I don't want to hear you talk out your ass anymore! I took this job to make ends meet, not to see you after months of only doing it for your son and daughters, despite wanting to be there even less than Lucas! Also, I have an apartment!" You exclaimed. While turning to walk away, you yelled for a coworker to cover this one, telling them you'd fork over part of your tips as thanks. Adore looked stunned as you stormed out, getting up to go after you. "Can you maybe not follow me home or something? Before I kick you in the tuck, honestly!" You huffed, walking away, untying your apron as you walked, which you wore as part of your uniform. Adore looked down at the sidewalk before heading back inside. "I really fucked up..." Adore sighed as she de-dragged backstage. "Yeah no fucking shit!" Bianca screamed. Adore bit her lip. "I don't think it was the cheating per se that bothered her. I think it was that you were drunk, and  that you've done stupid shit before while drunk! And most of all that someone else told her for the first time in the whole time you'd known each other!" Bianca continued to scold. "I know...I just wish I could take it back somehow..." Adore was...miraculously composed. Then again, I don't do well with yelling, so I'm slightly biased in my assessment. "I've got an idea!" DeLa announced cheerfully. Adore raised an eyebrow. "Take the kids one night when she isn't working! Courtney, Bianca and I will take her out for drinks or dinner or something! If not, we can get someone else who she may listen to a bit more than us to do it." After the suggestion, Courtney explained that DeLa likely meant your sister, who Adore knew you were officially family of now, and knew even more that you don't fuck with her family. Nervousness aside, "BenDeLaChrist, you're a life saver!" Adore thanked her friend. DeLa laughed at the use of nickname coined on All Stars. "She has tomorrow off, so I can call her saying we're taking her out during the night so she can spend the day with the kids, and her sister, who's flying out with her kid. I'll tell her that you've offered to take your kids for a bit, however, I can't make any promises Luke will be too happy." Courtney said. "You guys are great." Danny, now out of drag, responded. Morning came and Shane called you hours after you woke up saying, "Ben, Roy and myself are taking you out tonight. You need it! Danny's offered to take the kids, but you can always send them to someone else." Shane informed you. The truth is, you wanted to see Danny today to talk about last night, as well as other things. Or at least, you'd try to escape your sister long enough to get away with it. She was driving over from her hotel, having dropped her daughter with your parents, since she wanted to see them. "It's fine. I'm going to drop them off at around two though. I want to talk to Danny about...things." you replied, hesitantly. "Ok! We will come get you from your place around eight! Be back by before then!" Shane instructed as he hung up. "This was going to be awkward", you thought to yourself. You spent the next few hours with your kids and your sister, then when she went back to her hotel, you got the kids ready to go to Danny's. When you showed up at Danny's by a quarter till two, Lucas stared at the ground as you passed Amelia to Danny. "Hey Lucas." Danny greeted her son. "Hi." Lucas said quietly, hiding behind your leg. "Pequeño..." you said, indirectly warning your son. "Why are you so early?" Danny broke the silence. "I wanted to talk...about last night, and where this is going." You responded. Danny smiled as Lucas warmed up to her again, as well as your declared intentions. Lucas allowed Danny to pick him up when you and him had sorted the twins out. "I wove you." Lucas said into Danny's neck, muffled by the self-inflicted squishing of his face. "I love you too, baby." Danny said to the toddler. Your heart melted upon seeing the two together. "Why don't you go to your room so mom and I can talk?" Danny asked the toddler, setting him down. "Okay!" Lucas said. "If he's anything like you, he's staying where he is." You joked. Danny laughed. "I wanted to say that I'm sorry about last night, Danny. I should've heard you out." You apologized. "I'm sorry for not reaching out sooner. I'm sorry for this whole thing. I do love you, Y/N. I'm sorry for letting you think otherwise." Danny responded. "Danny, I love you. I really do. Carpenters reference not intended...I've been listening to that song for awhile, now." You started. "But, I don't know if I can trust you to not fuck up. There may come a time where I will see where I've been wrong, Carpenters reference intended this time. I just don't know. But, I love you and I vote that we stay married. I'm giving you a second chance. However, we take it slow, devote time to each other, kind of like when we were dating. We see where it goes, and if it works out well, I would consider renewing our vows." You spoke honestly. "I understand. Do you want to take some time to get the apartment sold? I can pay for anything." Danny offered. You hugged him tightly. "You don't have to. I got it listed a week ago and moved in with my parents." You replied, taking a quick second to reassure Danny that your adoptive family didn't hate her. "Really?" She smiled. You nodded. "Lucas, you can come out now!" You said, knowing your son was still there. He ran to you and Danny, both of you crouching down as he wrapped his arms around you. Hours passed. The kids were staying with Danny so all you would have to take with you in the morning was your bags. "Looks like everything would be alright after all", you thought to yourself as you fell asleep that night.
