I hit the brakes at the only blue house on Willow Street. Jess runs across the lawn.

"Hop in." I tell her. She shuts the door, straps her seatbelt and turns to me.

"Did you hear about the new guy?"

"What new guy?" I question.

"Well Hope told me that Tanya saw a weird guy in a cloak type thing. She said that he's young kinda." Okay so Jess doesn't talk like she's intelligent but she's one of my only friends.

"Strange." I say.

"Yeah and he hangs out around Starbucks. We should go."

"Don't think so."

"Why not? Its not like he's killed anybody."

"You don't know that."

"Sadie. Please. Let's just see if he's there. He might not be."

"Fine. Fine."

"Cool let's go."

We arrive at our local Starbucks 7:12. We walk in and order or drinks and then sit down in a booth. I sip my mocha latte.

"Look there he is." I turn around. A tall man in a long black trench coat is ordering coffee. He turns around. No. It can't be. I try to run out the door but Harry grabs my arm.

"Let go off her creep." Jess smacks Harry in the head with her purse.

"Jess stop. I know him."

"Then why did you run?" she asks.

"Just didn't recognize him at first." Harry takes of his coat. He leans in and whispers I'm my ear.

"I had fun last night." I gulp.

"Um Jess I'm gonna go talk to um my friend. Uh be back shortly." Me and Harry walk outside.

"What the heck?"

"I can explain."

"And how did you know I moved?" I growl.

"Sadie I have been searching for three years. Before your dad died he made sure to hide you from me. I feel awful Sadie." He looks at me with deep red eyes.

"Harry I didn't know whether you were dead or alive. In fact I hoped you were dead. You should've just let me live my life. I was happy. And what is wrong with your eyes?"

"Sadie can I tell you something? I missed you. I don't care if you want me dead because I am alive and I care about you. I had to run away because I care about you. I changed. Its why I look young, why I have red eyes, why I'm so pale. I was changed into a vampire."

"Oh really Harry. That's just great. I love to hear stories but nows not the time."

"I'm telling the truth. I caused the weather last night to keep you occupied. I age twice as slow as you do. I put myself in your dream last night. I drink blood." Harry's eyes become cold as ice. I cringe.

"I'm not going to bite you." He smiles.

"What kind of blood?" I whisper.

"Human blood. The blood of murderers and rapists and everyone who hurts people. Its the only way I can survive."

"Who turned you?" I back up against the wall in the alley.

"A young vampire. An 11 year old boy who didn't know what to do. It was an accident."

"Are you angry?" I mutter.

"No Sadie. I'm not angry. I took him under my wing. He's like a brother to me. He's 12 now. His name's Rick. I'd like you to meet him someday."

"How uh is it in Cheshire?"

"Nice and quiet. I haven't been there in a couple months though. One day we should take a trip. Visit you dads grave."

"He'd love to see you there." I say. Harry chuckles and it echoes.

"Yep. Sure would."

"I have to go Harry."

"Will I see you later?" His deep voice is so soothing.

"Maybe." I sprint into Starbucks.

"Sadie we have to go its 7:35." Jess bombards me.

"Okay. Hand me the keys." She tosses me the keys and we head to our school.
