Hospital

The drive to the hospital was tense and scary every so often he would turn sharply in anger which I didn't understand why would he be so mad about this, of course, a metal bat is gonna break something as he drove in I noticed three identical cars parked in a line a really cute pink car a few busses but I was snapped out of my daze by the door locking
"When they ask you what happened you are to say that you were playing baseball"
"okay" he unlocked the door glaring at me as if it's my fault I broke my arm
Walking in the ER I was looking around at all the people there was only a few Nick was still talking to the receptionist I snuck away to use the bathroom a nurse let me in the ER area to use the private one since there was a man with the flu keeping the public one hostage getting anxious seeing security around and me being me I took my time walking the long way looking around
"Are you lost?" Someone asked behind me making me jump involuntarily as he walked beside me
"Oh sorry didn't mean to scare ya" he smiled
"No don't be I thought you were Ni- I mean it's okay"
"Looking for someone?"
"Oh uh no I'm just wasting time"
"If you don't mind me asking, what are you in here for?, by the way, I'm Roman"
"Nick g- er I was playing baseball and I'm Sapphire" I caught myself mid-sentence he gave me a confused look
"Who do you play for?"
"Play what?"
"Uh you just said you were playing baseball"
"Oh yeah uh I was uh in my backyard"
"You're not hurt are you?" I quietly asked
"No, I'm not, my brother sprained his wrist"
"I hope he is okay" I smiled for the first time in a while this guy was so nice I loved his brown eyes and his giant tattoo I heard a voice I thought was Nick's turning my head quickly
"Jumpy now aren't we" Roman giggled a little
"Uh I'm just making sure Nic- er uh a little"
"Who's this Nick guy?"
"He's uh my boyfriend"
"Well if he's the reason for your little arm here being shattered is he really worth it?" He looked sincere it warmed my heart by he must've noticed my look
"I'll make ya a deal you can text me anytime and if I'm right about your boyfrien-
"SAPPHIRE WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!!!!"  Nick yelled as Roman handed me a little card
"Uh I was uh I got lost and uh he was uh bringing me to the waiting room" I managed to say
"You were SUPPOSED to stay by me!" Nick pulled me away from Roman harshly as Roman spoke up
"Hey hey now careful with her" Nick glared at him dragging me away Roman didn't look like he was gonna forget about me thank god

"Okay let me know if you need anything" my nurse said with a smile as she walked out turns out my arm needs surgery so I get to stay in the hospital for up to three days I wished it was more I'm just glad they sent Nick home after he yelled at my nurse but now I was alone watching TV growing more bored by the minute scrolling through my phone something I usually never get to do with Nick around I was just relaxed looking around on Instagram when Roman's words crept in my mind was Nick really worth this? I looked down at my arm now in a sling ready for surgery in the morning I sighed switched channels while lost in thought looking for something interesting to watch before falling asleep

"Excuse me, Sapphire? its time for your surgery" my nurse woke me up with a really comforting tone
I wasn't nervous for surgery but more nervous for going back home as she undid my sling I dazed out my door watching people walk past left and right rushing around I saw a few kids jumping around
"Okay now this surgery will last an hour or so and when you wake up you will feel very tired "
"Okay"
"Okay good luck I'll see you soon" my nurse waved as I was wheeled away going down the hallway seeing all the bright lights calmed me till I got to the operating room the surgeons explained the surgery then put a mask on me I was told to count to  10
"1.....2......3.............." And everything went black

I woke up to a bright room looking at the time 11:30 AM
"Oh you're awake, are you hungry, are you thirsty, are you in any pain"
"No I'm fine thanks" I rubbed my eyes adjusting to the light
"Also you have a visitor waiting downstairs, would you like to see them?"
"Sure"
"Okay I will let them come right up" I mentally slapped myself its probably Nick just in case I decided to have a text pre-written with Roman's number
"SAPPHIRE!" Yep it was Nick
"Nice to see you too Nick"
"DID I NOT TELL YOU TO TEXT ME"
"Do you have to yell?"
"YES I FU***** DO" I'm gonna need to send that text after all I sent the text sneakily while Nick kept yelling
"I TOLD YOU TO TEXT ME AFTER YOUR SURGERY!"
"I just woke up"
"Oh sure you slept for 14+ hours STOP LYING WHERE YOU WITH THAT GUY FROM YESTERDAY!"
"I'm not lying Nick" I kept calm surprisingly ignoring Nick as he yelled for the next 20 minutes
"HELLO ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME?!!"
"If you weren't yelling maybe I would" Nick grew angrier grabbing my gown
"Listen to me when we get home NOBODY will be able to save you from what I'll do"
"And what exactly is that?" Thank god Roman showed up Nick immediately let go
"Who the hell are you!?" Nick questioned Roman
"Your worst nightmare" Roman stayed in the doorway while Nick stood up

"Listen here-"

"No, YOU listen to me you touch her again I will personally show up at your door with my brothers cause when I tell them you're hurting a nice lady like Sapphire there ont be any stopping them"

"Oh I can take a pretty good beating id like to see you try" Nick scoffed folding his arms 

"You can take a beating huh?" Roman lifted Nick with ease by his neck 

"How about from three guys trained to hurt people for a living" Roman held him high above his face but Roman let go when a nurse came 

"I'll have to bring my lunatic with me if I find out you hurt her" but after that was said a nurse escorted them both out of the room for my therapy I mouthed out the words Thank You to Roman earning a sweet smile
