Butters' PoV
When I heard Kenny loud and clear through the leaving guards, I punched Cartman one more time, knocking him out before running over to him.
"Kenny! How'd you get here?" I exclaimed, hugging him tightly.
"Through the roof, babe. Now let's—"
"Stop..!"
I turned, seeing Cartman as white as snow, without his usual pink glow. "Y-you... I was...
"I was going to ask you.." he took out a little box and opened it. He was on his knees...
There was a little gold ring in the box, with a rose quartz, shined up greatly with what seemed to be real diamonds on the corners, and the rest was decorated with little rubies and peridots. The ring glistened brightly, like the tears Cartman seemed to had been holding back all those years.
"F-for... you t-t-to... marry me."
I froze on the spot. Kenny looked as if he would murder Cartman. He finally went over to a curtain, holding a lighter, and setting the curtain on fire. Cartman didn't even care, he looked up at me with sorrowful eyes, ones I didn't ever see since Heidi broke up with him in 7th grade, saying that he was hurting her and that she couldn't go through with it, and the truth was that she was sneaking out with Red and having an affair but didn't want to tell Cartman that until he did. Poor guy.
I finally came up to him, taking the beautiful ring he held in his sweaty hands with the fire growing around us, and I kissed him on his pale forehead.
"Eric, I'll forgive you, but you have to just let it go. I love Ken, and nothing can change that. You'll just have to live with it and find someone else to go with if you wanna survive without me. Im sorry, but I can't be with you. But you can come with us." I stated boldly. He looked hurt, but finally understanding, like a scared boy that was regretful for kicking his kitty and plucking the wings off of butterflies.
"Leave without me," he said. "I... I deserve this. I don't know if I could go on with what I've done. Just go... Kenny and you. I'll stay."
And with that, Kenny had already put his jacket on me and was pulling me back to the hatch that we had came from, climbing up with a ladder that was dropped down by the guards. They asked what happened as we got up, and I had told them.
We heard a swooshing sound. And a warmth behind me. I looked up, a helicopter, a few of them. And I looked behind me.
Almost half of the building was engulfed in flames.
