ANAYA
Ugh.
I am so exhausted. Being a bridesmaid is hectic. I look around myself and I see my best friend Kashish the bride looking beautiful in her green and gold outfit. Today is her haldi and mehendi ceremony and everyone is enjoying themselves. The haldi and mehendi ceremony is a pre bridal ritual where a mixture of turmeric and sandalwood is applied to the bride and henna is applied to her hands. All ladies take turn to apply haldi on bride's face, hands, and feet. There is dance and music too. The ceremony is taking place in the backyard of Kashish's house. The lawn is decorated with fairy lights and shamiyana (picture given below) colorful floor pillows are spread out.I have been helping with the preparations since morning. I feel so tired.
I NEED COFFFEEEEE!!!!!
I look down at my outfit which is a yellow sharara. Is it a appropriate outfit to go out to a coffee shop?? I thought. Do hell with it I need coffee I'll go in whatever I want.
(Anaya's outfit)I need to sneak out from here. I remember my friend telling me about a coffee shop down the street. I'll just go get myself coffee and come back am sure no one is going to notice. I look around and start walking to the exit.
"Anaya darling where are you going?"
Just perfect, I thought. Meet the nosiest relative ever known to mankind who cant just cant mind her own business, Aunt Amrita.
"Umm I was just...oh ya um looking for more henna cones. They ran out of henna cones." I replied.
