Chapter ten:
I had agreed to go to the party without much arguement, and I had even asked Daniel to come along, but, what was I supposed to wear?
I didn't have much experience with these parties, so i was only hoping I'd be able to survive this!
SO many clothes, so little to wear, I thought as I glanced at my closet.
I picked up my phone to call Sharon but realized it was her boyfriend's party so she would be busy obviously.
I ended up calling Daniel instead.
Talk about depending on someone, I thought and shrugged.
"Hey! Whatsup?" he asked.
"Can you come over?" I asked.
"Uh... something wrong?" He asked, absolutely worried.
"yeah." I said.
"Uh... you want me to dress up and come over? Um.... that way we can go to the party directly" he said, hesitantly.
"Whatever suits you." I barely muttered.
I hung up and sat on my bed to wait.
Daniel's POV:
I quickly changed into a blue denim jeans and a white button down shirt paired with my sneekers. I picked up my car keys and waller and headed out the door.
"Where are you headed to, Daniel?" Mom asked.
"To a party..." I said.
"Isn't it too early for a party?" She asked, with a questioning look on her face.
"Uh... I have to stop by a friend's house and pick her up..." I said.
"Pick HER up? Who is the girl?" Mom asked, smiling.
"Um, Melissa." I said after weighing the pros and cons. Melissa was a really good friend and I liked her, so I had to tell mom someday!
"Please dont tell me it's Melissa Simpson!" Mom said, literally pleading.
"Uh... actually, it is!" I said.
"Perfect! out of all the girls in the school, you could only find Melissa to take for a party, right?" Mom snapped.
"She is a really good person mom, only if you knew her!" I said and barged out the front door.
I realized this was exactly the same thing that I had said to Mel when she talked about my mom.
I started my car and drove to Melissa's house.
Thank God it was a small town, I reached her place in ten minutes. I had been really worried when she had asked me to come over and that there was a problem.
In all honesty, Mel was all I could think about these days. Every little thing reminded me of her, and whenever I thought of her, a small smile always found it's way
to my face.
And now when she told me there was a problem, I really got scared and brushed all stupid thoughts away.
I was surprised when I found her sitting on the front steps with her head in her hands. She was dressed in sweats and a Metallica t-shirt.
"Hey!" I said.
She smiled at me with a frown still evident on her face.
"Come on in." She said.
THis was the first time that I was going inside her house, I had only dropped her before.
