It was lunch and everyone went to their normal tables, the cafeteria was full of chatter of different topics but one rein rule over them all. Prom. Ah yes, prom, where guys and girls get in their finest textiles and go back to school willingly, where they dance, make mistakes, and get their hearts broken. The crew was all at their table. Sal in the center, Larry beside him, Chug and Maple beside Larry and on Sal's other side an empty space and beyond that, Todd, but there was something different this year. Two kids sat across from Sal and Larry. A girl and a boy, Shelly and Oliver, they were both new at the beginning of the year and had gotten into Sal's crew quite quickly because of Shelly's twitching issue. But someone was missing from their quite large party, Ash. She wasn't in her spot so Shelly decided to speak up: "Has anyone seen Ash- ACK!" Her head twitched violently to side making a cracking noise because Travis had blown a gust of air down her neck, making the blond laugh. Larry growled and Oliver cracked his knuckles but they were interrupted by Ash running towards them holding a flier and her lunch.
"Prom is this saterday!" She cheered as she sat by Sal.
Shelly groaned "Oh yes, the time where we're forced into dresses and socialize, without the promise of food." She stated sarcastically.
"Yeah, we'll pass. We got a D&D match planned that night anyway." Oliver explained.
Ash pleaded, "Oh come on, it'll be fun! You'll get to see your girlfriend again~"
The group laughed and Oliver gave in but now Shelly was their target. But Shelly was stubborn and she wasn't giving in so fast.
"Awe, come on! We can dump punch on Travis!" Larry exclaimed earning a snort from Sal.
"As tempting as that sounds, I'm trying to get him to be my friend, maybe that could solve the bullying problem?" She said, looking down at her lap, earning groans and a face-palm from Oliver.
"Fine, whatever you say." Ash said bordly.
They stopped pestering her about it and moved on to the next topic. The ham was starting to seem funny. But Shelly wasn't paying attention.
{Later that day}
Sal, Larry, Shelly, and Oliver were walking to their homes. Oliver lived close to Addison apartments and Shelly lived in the apartments. The four split ways and now it was just Sal, Larry, and Shelly.Larry's P.O.V.
Shelly seems out of it, she's normal talking about something random tha t happened out school but now she was just silent until I heard a small 'I'll come' from her. I looked down to see her gone, when I looked around I seen her sprinting into the apartments."That was weird, she's rarely ever like this." I heard Sal's muffled voice say.
"I think she was guilty about not coming?" I said but it sounded more like a question instead of a statement.
Me and Sal went down to my apartment to do homework and listen to Sanity's Fall but I have a very important question for Sal. As we went in I seen my mom digging through an old box of clothes that seemed like it could fit under her bed.
"Larry-bear, Sal! How was your guys' day?" She asked happily while she was pulling out some dresses.
"Good, what are you doing?" I asked watching her curiously, Sal doing the same.
"It's a surprise!" She exclaimed smiling like a cashire cat.
"Oh come on, Lisa, now I'm curious!" Sal whined.
Mom laughed and ushered us to my room, much to Sal's dislike. But we decided instead of facing mom's wrath by peaking, we'd do our homework so we can have fun faster.
