Dimitri pushed the heavy metal door and walked hastily towards the elevator. Sensing him arrive the elevator doors opened as he stepped inside and closed. The chip in Dimitri's brain connected with the elevator and took him to street level.
He hated these stupid elevators. He always felt his stomach drop as they descended from the 214th floor to street level. He refused to look out of the large glass windows surrounding the elevator. The speed still frightened him.
With a short ding, the elevator doors opened and Dimitri stepped out. Turning left from his building, Dimitri walked towards the monorails.
The day had already begun and people were bustling around Cedo City. Businessmen and women were moving towards the monorails, small store owners were setting up, children were being brought to school by parents. Partners were walking hand in hand together enjoying the early morning air.
The walk was short with the moving walkways working again. The walkways would increase your speed three times your regular speed. The open-air monorail station was crowded, people dressed in all types of colors. Dark blue and yellow jumpsuits were worn by a couple women, purple and orange jackets and shirts were worn by the men. It was a splash of color everywhere.
Sunlight bounced off the silver cylinder that was moving at an incredible speed toward the station. The monorail started slowing as it arrived to the station and people boarded once it came to a full stop, the glass door sliding open for them.
Taking up his usual seat towards the right side of the monorail, Dimitri glanced out the thick, glass window. The monorail started up as quickly as it stopped and the surroundings were impossible to see clearly. Every color and building blended together as it passed through Cedo City going West to Oqosa City where the companies were.
There was little talk between the people on the monorail, everyone in their own mechanical search engines.
The travel time was twenty minutes long with the speed the monorail was going and soon everyone cycled out of the monorail, making their ways to the companies they worked for or owned.
Bold Energy was just a ten minute walk away from the station and soon Dimitri arrived at his company. The chip from Dimitri's brain connected with the Bold Energy building once he was a few steps away from the doors and had them open for him as he walked inside casually.
Bold Energy was a building with a lot of character. It was a tall built building with large, thick glass windows surrounding most of the interior decorations. Glass surrounded certain offices of the building to show the different sections of the company. It was impossible to hide anything in the building since everything was in plain sight.
Dimitri began walking up the glass stairs, a requested choice for the building from him, towards his section where his office was. His secretary, Xandra, met him halfway down the stairs and walked up with him, explaining to what his schedule consisted of.
"Yes, thank you, Xandra. My SID already showed me my schedule."
"Right, sorry, Sir," she said nervously. Xandra seemed to always be nervous around him even though they had been working together for years now. Today she wore a black ribbed jumpsuit with grey gloves that ruffled out from the top of her hand. Her dark purple hair had been just recently cut short to follow the newest fashion statement.
Dimitri had reached his office, the dark orange walls flashing out through the glass walls. The glass door opened for him and he went towards his desk, placing his tile sized briefcase on his desk and opening it. The case enlarged to its regular size and clicked open.
Taking out his single pieces of papers, Dimitri scattered them across the black desk and started setting up for his upcoming meeting. He sighed as he took up the pile of papers. "Today is going to be a long day," he said to himself.
