Chaper Four

Harry

The door made a click sound and I opened it up, sliding my body through the quiet room. Not much was making sound only her heartbeat monitor and few quiet sounds that gushed through the open window. I closed the door and stayed by the door, not exactly knowing what to do next? I had it all planned out but now that I was here, I erased everything from my mind. I gazed at, Rosie who looked at me with her eyebrows knitted, a confused expression on her face. I decided not to wait long and I walked over to the free chair that stood next to her.

“How are you?” I asked her as I sat on the chair. Rosie shrugged, her expression not changing. Her face was still weak and fragile.

“You don’t remember who I am, do you?” I asked her my voice shaking terribly. Rosie looked away and from the corner of my eye I could see her nod.

“I’m Harry,” I introduced to my girlfriend. Was she even still my girlfriend? Rosie glanced back at me, her eyes twinkling, confused and scared written all over her face. She nodded and looked down at her two golden bracelets, wrapped around her wrist. She played with one of them – the one with the infinity symbol twirled around it – the one I bought for her.

After a long pause she locked eyes with me and took a deep breath.

“Where we close?” She breathed out, her hazel eyes searching mine. I looked up the ceiling, forcing myself not to cry. I just couldn’t believe this was happening.

“Yeah, we where,” I answered vaguely. Amelia told me not to tell her a bunch of things that could overwhelm her and give her a panic attack.

Rosie smiled warmly, her eyes turning into warmth of what I had said. I looked at her, locking eyes with hers. I have to tell her. I had to.

“Rosie, we where not just friends,” I started. I opened my mouth, ready to continue but the door burst open.

“Mr. Styles, visiting hours are over,” Amelia’s voice informed me as she walked inside the door, leaving the door open for me. I frowned and turned to face Amelia.

“I just came!” I complained with a pout as I crossed my arms. Amelia had her ‘I am waiting’ face as she gently tapped her foot against the floor. I put on my puppy face that would win over almost everyone but Amelia shook her head and nudging her head to the door with a chuckle.

“Alright, alright! I’m going,” I surrendered holding my hands up in the air as I stood up. “Bye, Rosie,” I smiled at her, giving her a wave before ambling out the room. Rosie smiled back, waving her little fingers.

“Bye, Harry,” she whispered with a smile as I watched the door closed.

--- Rosie’s POV ---

“I got your favorite milkshake!” Mia gushed as she dropped her bag on the empty couch that lay across from the bed I was laying in. She walked to me, shoving a chocolate milkshake in my face waiting for me to accept it. I thankfully took it, taking sips. I was dying to get rid of that horrid hospital food taste stuck in my throat.

“So what’s up?” Mia asked as she seated in the chair Harry had sat in earlier. I shrugged and gained my focus on the television playing some Olympic running footage. 2012 Olympics flashed by the screen making me sigh deeply. How could it already by 2012? I could have sworn a few days ago it was 2010.

“Where are mum and dad?” I blurted noticing that they weren’t here nor have I heard of them.

“They where stuck on some business meeting but they’ll be here next morning,” Mia explained waving her hand dismissively. I nodded and we both started to watch another run in the Olympics.

 “Mia?”

“Hmm?”

“How close where Harry and I?” Mia’s eyes widened and face read surprised at the question I asked.

“Why would you ask that?”

“I don’t know. The way he looks at me and smiles and talks,” I shrugged effortlessly taking notice in Harry’s behavior.

“Well, ermm,” Mia trailed off trying to find the right words. She coughed uncomfortably telling me something was off.

“Mia, what are you not telling me?” I asked her slowly, searching any trace of nervousness.

“You and Harry where ermm.. You two where more then friends,” Mia confessed shifting in her seat. “You two where dating.”

Only 4 words made my heart stop for a split second and my world freeze. My eyes dropped and I think I went paler then I already was. My lips parted and I didn’t leave my eyes off Mia.

“What?” I chocked out, my voice cracking.

“The doctor told me not to overwhelm you with things,” Mia explained as she held my hand, her eyebrows scrunching up in forgiveness. I sighed and looked into a different direction.

“I’m so sorry,” Mia whispered, as I felt her forehead hit against my hand. This wasn’t her fault. It gave as much as an impact to her as to me. I shouldn’t be treating her like this.

“It’s fine, Mia really. Thank you for telling me,” I told her with a small smile. Mia looked up, dark mascara slipping down her face. She gently wiped them away and smiled.

Harry was my boyfriend. For how long, was still a mystery to me. There was no denying it now.

“Mia?”

“Yes?”

“What was Harry’s and I relationship like?” Somehow what I said made Mia smile. Her eyes where filled with warmth and she sat up a bit.

“You guys really did love each other. You two where the couple everyone wanted to have,” Mia paused before continuing,” Harry would call you in the middle of the night, asking if you could come over because he couldn’t sleep.” My eyes widened and I couldn’t help but ask,

“Did I?"

Mia nodded another smile playing on her lips. “Yes. You would come over and stay for a few days there. Then you would come back, and, trust me, you wouldn’t stop smiling. You where head over heels for him. Sometimes I was jealous of yours and Harry’s relationship,” Mia told me.

I smiled at the fairy-tale like relationship I shared with Harry. If this was the truth she was speaking then Harry had to be broken as much as I was. Mia eyes stayed on me and I could feel them burning in the side of my face.

“Do you think Harry is here?” I asked her biting my lip.

“Probably in the waiting room where he’s been for the past few days,” Mia guessed as she took a sip of water. I nodded and threw of the bed sheets that where covering me. Mia raised her eyebrow as I slipped into my slippers and walked to the door.

“Where are you going?” she asked me, turning her face. I smiled as I held a grip on the door handle.

“To Harry,” I said before walking through the door and closing it behind me.
