6:50 AM, FOREST HILLS, QUEENS, NY
Peter woke up to the sound of his alarm clock. Even though he slightly hated it, he knew he'd have to get up sooner or later. After he got ready and dressed, he went downstairs and was greeted with Aunt May fixing breakfast.
"Uh... good morning." Peter started.
"Hey you, I didn't hear you come in last night." Aunt May said with no suspicion. She trusted Peter, and she knew he wouldn't lie to her.
"Yeah, well, you know. Jameson." Peter lied. It hurt him to lie to her like that, but he knew no one could know. He was contemplating telling her about Spider-Man, but he just didn't know the right time.
"Ugh," she said, visibly irritated at his mentioning of J. Jonah Jameson. "I wonder, has that man ever have a heart attack?"
Peter chuckled at that. JJJ can be very uneasy at times. Well, most times. Right after breakfast, Peter heard the bus and took off.
"Okay, thanks May, bye, love you!"
"Wait, Peter, your--" Aunt May tried to spit out, but he was already gone. "Lunch..." She was just there left in the kitchen with a bag of lunch she wasn't gonna eat.
When Peter got outside, he narrowly missed the bus. He ran outside, but the door closed right in front of him. His Spider-Sense was right about to warn him, but his face had already met the glass. Peter got on the bus with the bus driver trying not to laugh.
"Yeah, ha ha," He said dryly. He thought in his head, 'At least I don't have a job driving snot covered children around,' but he knew he wouldn't slide if he said that out loud. When he got to his seat, his mind started to wonder. He used to always get picked on by Flash Thompson, since Peter skipped sophomore and went straight to junior, he was the odd one out. But after Peter had his battle with the symbiote in the church about 3 months ago, and boy did that thing scare the life out of him, the symbiote and Flash just seemed to have disappeared. Not that he's complaining, but it was still strange to him.
He started thinking about if Flash got the symbiote, which would be HORRIBLE in Peter's mind, but they pulled up to the school before he could think of anything else.
School was pretty much the same, nothing really special. MJ had just moved, Harry, who was coming to school less and less, had stuff with his dad, Norman Osborn, who Peter had found out was the Green Goblin, and Gwen... wasn't around anymore. That night still cuts like a dagger to Peter. She was one of the few people that got Peter. She was the one who Peter actually fell in love with. She was the first person that Peter ever told who he was. And she was recently gone by his hand.
Last night was his first night as Spider-Man in 2 months. And, to be honest, it felt a little refreshing to him. For 2 consecutive months, he had put off the suit and just stared at it with pain in his eyes. He would just look at it, thinking, "This is the suit that killed her. This is the suit that killed her," over and over again. But now, he felt like it was his time to suit up again.
