Once we all reached home, we gathered around the kitchen. That’s where we all worked on our homework. That’s where we all stayed the whole day until the attorney from the bank came. Right around 6 o’clock our parents joined us at the table and we prayed that whatever the outcome let it be of God’s. Then, we went back to doing school work. Ding dong, was the noise that came from our door. Dad went to open the door. A business, lawsuit dressed women with a clasped in her hand came walking in.
“Hello,” the lady stated, “I came here to get your money and if you don’t have the right amount of money we’re asking for this house, you guys will no longer be the owners of this property.” She spoke as if she were a robot. She just came to do her job. Behind her were two construction workers. Were they planning break our house down? Mom went to the tiny wooden carved box and took the money out. She took out $900, instead of the amount they were supposed to give.
“Here,” mom said to the lady while handing her the money, “it’s exactly $900.” The lady took the money, sat down on my chair and started to count it up. When she was finished she got up with all of the money clutched in her hands, Was she angry?
“It seems like you guys get to keep your house,” she said in an almost happy tone, “have a goodnight.” She exited our house. Immediately after she left the house we started celebrating and crying tears of joy. Relief started to surface in my body. We engulfed one another in a giant bear hug. It seems like this will forever be our home grandpa and grandma. I spoke to them . I bet they’re smiling down on us.
Dinner time came around, we talked and laughed while devouring our meals.
“I have an announcement to make,” dad busted with a sad tone. Then, there was a pause of suspense. What was wrong this time?, I thought.
“I got a new job,” dad cheered with happiness. Everyone exploded out with joy and excitement. Telling dad congratulations and how spectacular it is. Thank you God for answering.
