Nikki’s POV
The crowd was huge. There were so many more people in the order than I thought.....
Today was the day we’d get out partners for ‘the fight’. I’d have had no idea if it weren’t for Sami. We were the only two who knew what was going to happen today.
We’d have to fight with the test subjects from the order’s other facility to see who’d be paired together.
We started with six ‘experimentals’ standing in a circle. On the whistle, we had to fight, until only two of us remained alive.
Those two people would be partners for ‘the battle’.
I glanced at my twin, hoping for some comfort. She was trembling slightly.
I noticed that the scars I’d left on her arms and cheeks the other night during our ‘training’ had finally healed up.
I smiled and took her hand. She looked back at me, terrified. She looked exactly how I was feeling.
I gave my sister a weak, shaky smile. Her grip on my hand tightened and we both looked around.
There were maybe around seventy people. About ninety-five percent were like Sami and I; experiments. The other five percent were the scientists and doctors that brought us up to be like this.
The ones who changed our lives.
“Subject #15, please step forward!”
I bit my lip and it started to bleed. It was my turn. Blood ran down my chin and dripped slowly to the floor.
Sami tensed up next to me and gripped my hand so tight it turned a light, reddish-purple. You’d have thought she was the one going up. I hugged her tight before jogging up to the center of the stage.
Her words rang through my ears during my several fights. “Be careful,” she said, tears in her eyes. I had to survive this, more for her than for myself.
Once we were in our positions we all looked at eachother, planning who will attack first. I scanned there faces, many were focused, ready for battle. Others were terrified, almost looking like they were going to pass out.
I shook my head, I can't let thinks get to me right now. I have to win this, for Sami, I'm sure she is thinking the same.
A buzz went off, making everyone jump into action. "You can do this." Sami's voice echoed in my mind, I stole a glance towards her. She had a smile on her face, it didn't exactly reach her eyes though. I sighed, I can do this.
I looked up, feeling someone come at me. There we only three people left, me, my partner, this huge giant coming towards me and his partner. I growled, painfully slipping into my panther form. The giant stopped infront of me, maybe a couple feet.
I scoffed, damn fat ass.
He charged at me once again, full speed this time. I pounced at him, sending my long, slim body on top of his huge shoulders. He slowly dropped to the floor, but at the last second, turned around making me slam into the ground.
I yelped in pain, feeling a rib crack. It hurt like hell, but I wouldn't give up. I opened my eyes, seeing his face was close to mine. I extended my mouth open, feeling my teeth sink out. I nipped at his neck, giving him a warning to get off of me.
He sank harder into me, cracking another one of my ribs. I screamed, feeling blood rush to my face. God it hurt so bad. I had to end this, fast.
