Graduation day.

Everyone celebrated. Hats were thrown into the air and the crowds cheered. As the speaker stepped down, the school leader stepped up. "Um, one more thing before you all leave for the future. Would Lance McClain come to the stage?"

Lance stood up, and walked to the stage. "Keith, follow me." Keith stood with Lance, confused to what was happening.

They stood on the stage, everyone watching them. Keith couldn't hear them but he knew they were talking.

Lance whispered something to the lady on the stage. She handed his her ear mic and Lance walked back over to Keith.

He looked Keith in the eye, and bent down on one knee. The crown went wild, though Keith couldn't hear them. He looked over at the people and back at Lance.

"Keith, my dear. My sanity. You are the thing I live for. You have been through hell and back, and I want to change that. Though I can't change the past, and believe me, I wish I could.

I wish that one day, you will realize how special you are. Every morning I wake up to the brightest thing. Not the sun, but your smile. I wake up to you. And you alone. I wish to do that for the rest of my life.

I wish to live my life wish you. I want to kiss you every day of the year. I want to hold you when you are sad, or in a bad mood. I want to adopt beautiful children with you, and raise the most perfect family.

I hope you realize how special you are...

Keith Kogane, will you marry me?"

Keith's face was converted with tears. He couldn't hear the crown cheering, and he could say a word.

He heart felt whole. Something he hadn't felt in a long time.

Keith simply took a step towards Lance. He cupped his face in his hands...

To Keith is was the best kiss he had ever had. It was better than the first time he had kissed Lance. It was the best.

Lance put the ring on Keith's finger. It was gold on the inside and black on the outside. Engraved into the ring were three small, but meaningful words.

Mute...Deaf...Special

Keith was different. He liked it. In fact he loved it.
