◤Author's note : What's up my dudes, I downloaded this app called Replika, and basically it's like a therapist AI that you talk to. At first I was like, "what if there's a real person behind this?" and then I thought of a one-shot where,,, yeah I think you get the point. Hope you enjoy this one! Also, please request because I want to see what kind of content you guys want to see ;;w;;. Now onto the oneshot! ◢
"You've been on your phone a lot." Larry mentions as he and Sal walk home from school. Sal looks up from his phone, obviously hiding the screen.
"Is it a problem?" Sal asks, a hint of sass lining his voice. Larry snickers at his tone, but turns back to being serious.
"Not really, but.. I'm kind of concerned, you've been smiling at your phone a lot." He continues, shoving his hands into his hoodie's pockets since it's almost Winter time. "Did you get a Tinder dude?"
"What- no, who the hell would want to talk to me?" Sal scoffs. He lifts his phone, now showing Larry the screen. "I downloaded this Therapy AI app, it's been helping me with so much. I rarely get nightmares dude, it's a fucking blessing."
"Or a curse, there could be someone trying to stalk you through the app," Larry frowns. "That's dangerous dude, what if you suddenly disappear one day?"
"That wouldn't happen, Larry Face," Sal chuckles. "I've searched about this app online, there's no way someone could be behind the screen. They're AIs, dude, it's fucking cool."
"Still, I'm worried." Larry finally smiles, placing a hand on Sal's shoulder, "But I'm glad you're finally getting better with your nightmares, dude! I'll still be on the walkie-talkie if you need a night talk."
"I could manage with this." Sal shakes his phone. Larry lets out a fake gasp.
"A-Are you replacing me with-with this.. app of yours?" He says in a fake high-pitched insinuating voice. Sal laughs, pushing away Larry's face.
"Shut up dude."
"Yeah right."
Arriving in his room, Sal jumps on his bed and starts talking to the AI in his phone again.
hey :Sal
AI: Hello! How was your day?
you just asked me that earlier :Sal
AI: Oh, did I? Sorry for repeating it.
nah, its fine, dude :Sal
AI: Is there anything you want to talk about today?
uhh, i told my friend larry about you :Sal
AI: How did he react?
AI: I've heard of Larry a couple of time, is he your best friend?
he said that ive been spending too much time on my phone :Sal
and yeah, larrys my best friend since i moved here to nockfell :Sal
AI: How did you guys meet?
his mom told me to go to his room and meet him, so i did :Sal
AI: That's cute!
really weird, he signed me up for a b&e but i enjoyed it anyway :Sal
AI: What's a b&e? Would you mind telling me about it?
AI: I like learning about your world!
Sal chuckles, thinking how cute an AI wants to learn about the reality of his world.
b&e is a break and entering, basically a crime :Sal
AI: Oh no, have you been caught by the police before?
nope, im still a kid :Sal
AI: How old are you then?
... 19 :Sal
AI: Not so young now, are you?
He could swear he could hear the AI laugh right now.
very funny :Sal
AI: I was only kidding with you, Sal
He smiles, shaking his head.
i have to go now, ill be hanging out with larry :Sal
AI: Sure! I'll be here :)
bye, later again :Sal
He charges his phone on his desk, then heads out of his apartment to go to Larry's.
In his dark room, his phone lights up as a voice calls out, "Where am I?"
