"Put my portionof dinner in the microwave, I will be on a hunt." Castiel told youas you glanced up from the sauce that was bubbling on the stove top.It would be the first time either of you left the cabin without theother. Ever since the 'vampire incident' as you called it Castielwent with you when grocery shopping and to pick up honey, he kept aprotective arm around your waist.
"Hunt?"
"Yes. I go outand take out any monsters hurting innocents." He explained and youcouldn't help but face palm. Of course.
"But I meanwhere are you going? What are you hunting? Do you need backup?" Youasked worried and he looked over at you.
"Thirty milesaway, a Weindigo nest, there is no backup." He explained and thatmade you even more worried.
"But what ifyou're hurt?" You asked and he looked at you blankly. That way helooked at you a lot of the time, a deadpanned expression you wereused to seeing on him but also a mixture of confusion. You halfexpected him to say the words 'you have a guinea pig?'
"I'm an angel ofthe lord, I will be fine."
"But...what ifyou're not. Angel or not, you can still be hurt." You pointed outand he sighed looking over at you.
"Yes but I can'tbe hurt as easily as a human, and I have training that a humannormally would take years to do." He pointed out and you sighed, you knew what he was saying. There was no way you could do it, andyou knew that was true, you hadn't gone through any of the training, you weren't a hundred percent sure you could convince people you werea police officer or something along those lines to get information oreven find where dangerous supernaturals were.
"I know thatCastiel, just...all alone...what if something doeshappen, no one would know."
"You'dknow." He points out and you groaned.
"Yesbut I don't know where youare. You are thirty miles away, that means I'd have a thirty mileradius of where you could be, and how would I know that I needed tolook for you?" I pointed out and he looked at you shocked,"weindigos are no joke, and I think they'll eat you no matter whoyou are." I shook my head but jumped as I heard a new voice.
"Wouldit make you feel better if I went with him, belladonna? (beautifulwoman?)" You turned to see a blonde man. Gabriel.
"Gabriel?"Castiel echoed and he did a quick little bow.
"Yes,Gabriel, the Messenger." He hummed, "seems this darling littlehuman is worried. It's adorable." He grinned, "so I'll join thehunt." He said and despite Castiel making it clear that he did notwant that, he might as well have been talking to a brick wall. It didcalm you down and you made a little bit extra so that Gabriel couldeat as well if he wanted. You sat down and began reading up onmonsters and how to spot them, you got onto a laptop looking for anyother possible cases and cleaning his few weapons. As you yawned thefifth time in a minute you decided you better go to sleep so puteverything done and wrote a quick note to him there was enough forGabriel if the two wanted to have dinner.
Yougot ready for bed and headed into the bedroom. You hated to takeCastiel's bed from him even if he didn't sleep. So you tried to be asunobtrusive as you could, keeping the few clothing you had in asingle drawer and keeping the other things out of the room so itcould still be his sanctuary.
Whenthe angels returned to the cottage about five minutes after you hadfallen asleep. Seeing the cleaned weapons, the bookmarks in the bookswith the notes you had, as well as a list labeled 'possiblesightings', and the note on the Tupperware held dinner and dessert.Gabriel had only one thing to say.
"Ilike her."
Iknow this is pretty short but I liked Reader-chan meeting some ofCas's family. Well...one member.
