They both got into Shivaay's black Mercedes car and Anika gave him the directions to her house. It was a small house, somewhat deserted and on a similar route to somewhere he has driven previously. The area wasn't the best, but it was far enough from the spying eyes of the surrounding colonies. As Anika walked out of the car, passing by women turned towards her and audibly gasped watching her step out of an expensive car, that too with a smartly dressed man.

1st Woman: Yeh dekh. Aayi yeh ladki, aadmi leker mene bola tha, naa?

2nd Woman: Haa. Yeh ladki itni gandhi hai. Kisko pata hai shayad yeh ladka bhi inhone phasaya

3rd Woman: Maine suna ki isne doh mahine se kiraaya nahi diya hai. Pakka voh yaha se nikalke kisi aur jaga jayegi

1st Woman: Phir inse aur umeed hi kya rakh sakte?

Shivaay was about to speak up but Anika stopped tugged at his blazer, stopping him.

Anika: Excuse me, lekin app logo ko sach mein kohi aur kaam nahi hai? Har baar dekho kisi aur ke baare mein baatein karte rehte. Instead of me maybe apne bete per dhyaan rakho, who knows I might trap them next?

Winking at the ladies, she links her hands around Shivaay's arms and they proceed inside, leaving the stunned women in utter shock.

They got into Anika's house and she left his arm immediately after shutting the door. A small giggle left her mouth as she dawned upon how she actually confronted those annoying aunties in the way she could only ever dream of. Did that just actually happen? Anika needed a moment to process.

The decently sized property with minimal decor caught Shivaay's eye as it totally matched his personal preferences.

Anika: I'm sorry about them ladies, they really need to get a grip.

Shivaay chuckled.

Shivaay: That was so cool just now. I don't see a lot of time jab ladkiyan aise taane per jawab dete. You killed it.

Regardless of how much India had progressed as a country, such remarks remained constant within certain societies around the country. An unjustifiable expectation upon girls to act and behave a certain way, so it wasn't often that people would clap back to such insults as they'd typically ignore it.

Anika: Have a drink and make yourself at home. I'll just be a second.

Strolling up to the kitchen island, Anika poured the man a glass of water before hurriedly shuffling into her own room.

Carefully closing the door behind herself, she searched in her bedside drawers. On finding a box, she opened it an found an emergency injection. Anika raised the needle to her arm with softly trembling hands and closed her eyes tightly as she jabbed herself.

Yes. Drugs.

After a while, she took a small purse from her closet and checked to see if there was medication in there. She then walked out to meet Shivaay again.

Anika: Sorry about that.

Shivaay: No problem.

Anika: Shall we go?

Shivaay: Yeah, you got the résumé?

Anika: One second.
